He has gathered a few critics for playing the game differently, but I think he still stands out unique. Hell be on Leno tonight and announce on his website. Here is the video of his first ad which will air during the Republican debate he is missing for Leno. Watch Video Here.

Actually, I thought Fred looked extremely good. Slimmed down a bit (on purpose through daily personal trainer sessions in order to build up for the campaign), makeup not overplayed to make him appear ridiculously young,... strong, unwavering, on-message....
engaging. Excellent eye-contact.
Judging by some of the posts here, he looks strong enough to send his detractors into conniption fits. Not that it takes much though.. LOL!

Nephi,
Let Fred have his time in the sun let the ensuing next 4 months vet all that stuff out. I am getting sick and tired of the jumping on other candidates especially when they are the good guys.
To: Nephi
Just a word of caution for you, a bit of advice you might want to take to heart. You can ignore it if you wish, but to do so would be at your own peril.
Poster Pissant has said many of the same things you have, including a lot of disparaging remarks about Fred over the last few months, to the point JimRob made it know that some of his comments could and would get him removed from FR.
So far, all I've seen from you is little substance and only a penchant for not being able to use the spell-checker.

I'll continue to mock them when I see fit. You can make nice with the Freddites to your hearts content.
As you will. I just don't see much reason to attack The Fred on this ad or on his eagerly awaited debut.
I try to be nice to all the GOP candidates except the leftwing mayor. Because I do intend to vote for the GOP nominee if at all possible.

“He and L.Ron are both geniouses donchaknow!”
AHem, I think you better get with whoever it is that keeps the FR Lexicon.
There is an NEW word to add...lol!

I agree. We have a lot of FReepers who won't even venture on to any candidate thread because they're so repulsive and negative to read.
We need to stop poisoning the well here at FR. It only hurts our own favorite candidates and our forum.
To: nowandlater
Um, now is the time to filter out the faux conservatives. McFred isn’t a conservative. So what, if I’ve had a little fun pointing out the preoccupation with the actor, McFred’s amateurish head bobbing, when his biggest accomplishment while acting as senator was, as he bragged about it, co-authoring McCain/Feingold.

Agreed. His head bobbing is a problem. I don’t like distracting movements when people talk. G.W.’s “deer in the healights” look has always made me cringe. People who are going to be in politics need to take public speaking courses. Fred T. should be better at this since he has acting ability. It’s surprising. He should be an excellent speaker. Just musing. I’m still an undecided.

Oh, this is hugh. You can't be series, but okay, I'll explain: I didn't really think that Jay was a genius, but I don't think you are, either.

A minor quibble at best. I'm sure they made the ad several times in different ways and picked this one for a reason. I would be very surprised if Fred doesn't run a very media-savvy campaign.
It's a good first effort, will probably accomplish its goals of a general introduction to the voters and an emphasis on Fred's three primary themes. One of the things that the other GOP candidates have failed to do is to emphasize and communicate a real campaign theme for themselves. I see indications here that Team Fred isn't going to overlook that detail.

Ha! That's the one I was wishing for. We sure could use a president like that.

Short and sweet. Good ad.
One minor criticism: Fred should tone down the head language just a little. Maybe it was the compuer-quality video, but it looked like Fred’s head was a little too herky-jerky as he spoke.
To: prairiebreeze
I think he looked better with more weight, but all the fanatical “I hate fat people” around here ought to just love him this way. :p

If we're going back to Katrina, how about Haley Barbour as VP for any GOP nominee? He sure walked the walk, talked the talk during Katrina. I still admire him for it.
To: Nephi
Um, now is the time to filter out the faux conservatives. No need for that. The isolationist America-blaming goldbuggering nutjob L.Ron Paul is self-eliminating. Like a jumbo bowl of All-Bran, he too shall pass soon enough.

Petronski, why don't you just focus on Fred? This is not an RP thread.
For better or worse, this is Fred's big day. Go for the positive. You win more people to your candidate that way.
