There’s been a Spanish version for years. The first US government website was when Clinton was president. I’m thinking it was during his second term and the Web was maturing (we used Netscape/a crappy IE) around ‘96 or so that the Spanish version first went up. Bush came in and expanded on a lot of what was on the US website and made an identical version in Spanish. IIRC, that is.

That’s not what press acounts say. Clinton started Fistgov.gov in 2000.

Nuevo: FirstGov to launch in Spanish

The General Services Administration next week will officially launch FirstGov en Español, the government’s first and only Spanish-language information Web portal, at www.espanol.gov, department officials announced today.
