Ron Paul???? You seriously think this guy’s got a snowballs chance?

Right now Paul has more grassroots support and Internet presence than Giuliani. He's only one of two candidates who can attract a broad coalition of voters: Swing, moderate, libertarian, independents. Rudy really doesn't have a base of support, other than GOP Rockefeller types.

You can remain in delusion but conservatives and the groups I mentioned simply aren't going to vote for Rudy.

>>>>>What now you are tattling on me to JimRob because you don’t like my oppinions? Wow, big man you are.

What a whiner! There is nothing wrong with conservative FReepers pointing out RudyBoosters to the bossman. After all, its his home and since about last March, Jim has said Free Republic doesn't support the liberal Giulinai for the GOP nomination. Period. In fact, FR has never supported liberalism of any kind. You may not like that, but frankly, I don't care what you like.

All your posts on this thread contain the same old worn out propaganda in support of Rooty Toot.

>>>>>Look, calling Rudy a liberal is insanity, I’ve offered pleanty of proof of my stand, and all you have offered is tired rhetoric, which I have answered before time and again.

Supporting a liberal on this conservative forum is the real insanity! Liberals are the enemy of conservatism. Around FR, supporting Giuliani is a form of political treason. Like it or not.

Wrong. All you did was defend Rooty`s liberalism. Rooty supports big government; Roe v Wade and abortion on demand; he's advocated for more gun control and an assault weapons ban; he's supported gay rights and civil unions; he's promoted global warming bunkum. That is the record of a liberal, not a conservative.

They may not, but Ron Paul has ZERO chance of winning the nomination. Like I said, when the primaries are over, the social conservatives cannot claim they had no candidates to vote for, they have them, and they are for the most part single digit also rans, and I don’t see anything in the political dynamic changing this.

You see, when you are 15-25% of a parties make up at the high end, you don’t get to pick the candidate. You can influence the process, but you don’t get to pick them solo. That’s the problem with most of the politically active folks on the far ends of the political spectrum... whether it be the rabid communist left, or the hard core 1 issue voters on the far right.

Your groups are not large enough to soley declare by fiat anything.... and these groups are largely too spiteful and angry to do what it takes in politics to win and build something meaningful. That being, understand that you cannot go it alone, the math just doesn’t work.

Internet presence means nothing in terms of a large internet presence equating into votes on election day, as the Dean campaign proved... he had by far the best use of the internet, and crashed and burned in Iowa, and then had his insanity moment on stage in the aftermath.

I don’t hate Ron Paul, or Mitt, or Thompson, or any of the rest. I certainly don’t see Ron Paul winning the nomination, even if everything would go perfectly for him, I don’t see him mustering hte nomination. Perhaps if he sticks around long enough, could be tapped as VP by the nominee, but that’s about it. And this is a very real possibility, if he marks out the social conservative voters and does manage to pull 10% of the primary vote... the question that’s going to have to be asked by those like yourself is, what happens if you do pull this off, and he is tapped and accepts the VP nomination to someone not so far right in the social conservative world?

Him taking the spot would be a huge building block for those of this ilk in the party... but will you support it, and see it as a positive? Or would you attack Mr Paul as a sell out if that were to happen?

Politics is about building coalitions and incrementalism... at least our form of politics is. Sitting on ones hands in spite does nothing but leave you out of the process. Cutting off ones nose to spite ones face is a tried and true reaction of these far right and far left groups, and its to a large part why they never are able to muster much real influence within the parties.

Again, you fail to know what liberalism is. You brandy about a word without knowing its meaning, which just shows ignorance.

Your name calling aside, (the last hiding place of the lost argument) you haven’t offered anything but rhetoric.

Trying to frame Rudy as Hillary is comical in its ignorance.

Lets see who should conservatives vote for? Well lets look at the 2 that have any sort of poll numbers... Mitt... a supposedly converted pro-lifer who spent his life advocating abortion rights... but now that he’s running nationally he’s found Jesus.. or at least what the Morman faith claim is Jesus. He flubbs at softball questions about his own kids decisions about joining the service or not, and panders to whatever group he’s talking to..... Yea, he’s a voice and character for conservatism. He can’t even be honest about where he stands, because where he stands shifts with the wind... that’s not a leader I want, saw enough of that with Bubba.

Thompson... to date has offered NOTHING... and I do mean that. He’s espoused rhetoric to friendly crowds, nothing more... and the 1 question he had to answer about whether he advocated for abortion he lied about, turns out he did, (so where’s his moral backbone?) and then back tracked, side stepped and did a lousy 2 step.

So please tell me, which of these 2 guys are going to be the moral leader of the Republican party? Neither one can be honest with themselves or the people about their moral decisions, or even handle being questioned well. They can certainly pander if that’s all you want until election day, but sorry, not me.

I don’t want someone I agree with 100% of the time, because if I do, they obviously are lying their butts off. There is no way anyone who is being honest or has an ounce of honesty in their body can possibly hold the same views on every issue as hundreds of millions of americans, unless they are lying through their teeth.

I don’t see leadership out of Thompson or Mitt, both have flubbed the most softball of questions.

As I have said many times on this thread, a lot can happen between now and 11/08, but as of right now, I don’t see anyone else running that’s going to take out Rudy.

As to whining, no whining at all, it was more a questioning of your own manhood that you can’t handle your convictions on your own without running home to daddy. Not overly suprising behavior given everything else you’ve said here.

Ironically, a lot of social and religious conservatives used to be Democrats.

More BS in support of the liberal Rooty Toot, from a well known RINO loving, rhetorical windbag. LOL

A recent Diageo/Hotline poll shows Giuliani leading the GOP field among Christian evangelicals...

LOL! Now that's funny.

I think HamiltonJay needs to buy some brevity offsets to help balance his posting footprint.

” know a lot of folks here may not want to hear it, but Rudy’s got the support because frankly he’s the best candidate”

Be careful! Statements like that will get you banned.
