American Liar

As governor, [Ronald Reagan]
was adamantly pro-choice.

How’s that Ah-nold care working out for you, hun ? A sad day when “Republicans” are trying to out-Socialize the rodents on Socialist Medicine. Keep your Goobernator and the Precious one the hell away from health care, thank you very much.

“This man did more to make the Democrats an unassailable and uncontested political regime in MA better than any Democrat Governor could have. It will take decades, if ever, to undo the damage between his hero Weld through Precious, and make the state even remotely competitive again.”

It is difficult to sort through the venom and hyperbole of your posts to learn anything reliable. For me, it seems that for anyone to be governor of MA and accomplish anything positive and conservative is a miracle. You seem to brush aside too much of the positive just to post your subjective criticisms.

Meanwhile, Mitt Romney has head held high and ignoring the negative. You have to admire his work ethic, his family, his experience, his stamina, his record.

I am very proud to support this man and will do whatever I can to help.

Check it out...straight from a "Romney-Bot's" about page...

http://www.freerepublic.com/~unmarkedpackage/

Governor Romney: "I know the NRA does not support an assault weapon ban. So I don't line up on that particular issue with the NRA, either does President Bush. He likewise says he supported an assault weapon ban."

"Today we don't have the Brady bill because we have instantaneous background checks. That's no longer a operative or needed measure."

"But I'm a strong proponent of Second Amendment rights. I believe people, under our Constitution, have the right to bear arms."

"We have a gun in one of our homes. It's not owned by me, it's owned by my son, but I've always considered it sort of mine."

"I've been a hunter all my life, not frequently, but as a boy, when I worked on a ranch in Idaho, we used to go out shooting rabbits, because they were eating all the barley, and I got pretty good with a single shot .22 rifle, and been quail hunting more recently."

"So I'm a hunter and believe in Second Amendment rights, but I also believe that assault weapons are not needed in the public population."

Mitt Romney is an IDIOT. Maybe him and John F'n Kerry could remind us what hunting has to do with the Second Amendment? Also, if he's as smart as his supporters are telling us, maybe he'd know that these sorts of statements about the 2nd Amendment are not very popular and have caused mountains of grief to other similarly minded leftist cretins.

Yet another CINC wannabe who doesn't understand "...shall not be infringed.

NEVER trust a leader or potential leader who wants to restrict ownership, access, or usage of our weapons. All successful tyrants start this way!

Yeah, and George Allen WILL BE our next President. All the Fredheads should know that name really well, since they were telling me that "fact" about him last year. Gotta go with the flavor of the week.

Maybe you misunderstand. He accomplished nothing positive as Governor. He was grossly incompetent as a Republican “leader.” Unless you consider furthering the liberal agenda and expanding the Democrat majorities to be a positive ?

Re: your list of Thompson votes, how is it a negative that Thompson voted to limit welfare to immigrants in June 1997?

Also, this is incorrect:

Voted to grant amnesty to close to one million illegal aliens from Nicaragua and Cuba in 1997

The amendment that Numbers USA refers to was the Mack Amendment, which clarified the tough-on illegals 1996 immigration law, which Thompson supported. The Reagan and Bush administrations made agreements with illigal immigrants who fled our wars against communism in central and south America; these agreements laid out the conditions under which these particular illegal immigrants could apply to have their deportations suspended.

The 1996 law changed the criteria by which illegal aliens could have their deportations suspended. The Mack amendment clarified that these particular illegal aliens who were subject to the class action agreements made by Reagan and HW Bush, and whose deportation cases were already in the pipeline when the new law was enacted in 1996, would have their deportation cases heard under the old rules. In other words, the amendment did not automatically grant them citizenship or allow them to stay. Any illegal immigrant, even from these classes, whose cases were not already in the pipeline at the time of the 1996 immigration bill enactment would have to submit to the new, tougher rules. Here is the link to the vote -- 99 senators agreed to it, including Sessions and Thompson: http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=105&session=1&vote=00269

Romney is a pandering liar. He'll change his stand on issues more often than socks and underwear. He instills no confidence.

But hey...according to his supporters in previous postings to me, he's good looking, has charisma, and is rich. So he must be a good leader....just like John Edwards!

I'll still play the Prophet of Doom and say that IF one of the three Turds Who Won't Flush (Giuliani, Romney, McCain) make it on the 2008 Presidential ballot, Hillary Rodham Clinton will be the 44th President of the United States of America.

People such as myself will ensure that this happens. Unlike the cowards who will vote for the lesser of two evils, we do not fear.

Wow that did go down the memory hole! Even I barely remember that. They were as sure then of Allen as they are now of Fred cruising into the Whitehouse.

I'm not seeing Romney improving his position here. Looks like my County pretty well shows support for Fred!
Poll last week for Sussex County, Delaware:

Fred Thompson 48%
Rudy Giuliani 14%
Mitt Romney 10%
Mike Huckabee 7%
John McCain 5%
Newt Gingrich 4%
Ron Paul 4%
Tom Tancredo 4%
Sam Brownback 1%
Chuck Hagel 1%
Duncan Hunter 1%
Tommy Thompson <1%
Tom Coburn <1%
Jim Gilmore <1%
George Pataki <1%

Whatever the reason, the grade-school level name-calling does nobody any good. The ones doing it discredit themselves and add absolutely nothing to the discussion.

Don’t tell me what you are against, tell me what you are FOR.

So what ? Allen WAS considered a leading WH candidate last year. At least after running a dreadful reelection campaign last November and losing he didn’t go around the country saying with a straight face that he was the ONLY electable candidate for President. Fred, unlike all the others, was actually called by the people to run. Big difference.
