Giuliani 47% Clinton 44%; Clinton 48% Thompson 44% Friday, August 31, 2007 Advertisment Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani leads New York Senator Hillary Clinton 47% to 44% in the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. A month ago, Giuliani enjoyed a seven-point edge.
In six polls conducted between November 2006 and April of this year, Giuliani was ahead of Clinton each time with margins ranging from two to nine points. The match-up between the frontrunners tightened from May to early July. During that stretch, the two candidates were within a point of each other four times. Clinton led by a single point in a July 10 survey, the only time all year shes topped Giuliani in a national poll.
However, the last two polls show Giuliani ahead once again.
The latest poll also shows Clinton leading former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson 48% to 44%. Thompson, who will formally announce his candidacy next Thursday, has been closely matched with Clinton in six polls conducted since March. The candidates have been within one point of each other in three of the six polls while Clinton has enjoyed a 3 or 4 point lead in the others.

That'd translate to an easy 'rat win once the dead cast their votes.
Bump! Go Fred Go!
Meanwhile, negatives or not, the 'Rats will come out in droves and vote for Hillary!, and the press will slobber and fawn all over her, enough to drag other sheeple along. I'm telling you, if we keep up the crap like we've been doing, fighting each other rather than the real enemy, we're going to get walloped, worse than in '06.
the most important part of all these numbers is the piaps losing!!!!
Well, we all have to do what we have to do.
Not surprising that you think he would be just making a show of not voting, and not based on principle. Any one who supports Giuliani isn’t a serious conservative, but is just playing the political party game.
Valid point.
Agreed. Are your comments directed at this site for shoving off the Rudy supporters?
BTW - If Hillary wins the nom, more anti Hillary types who normally might have stayed home (because voting is too hard) will get to the polls than lazy dims getting off their duffs and shlepping down the street.
Hillary as the dem candidate is a God send.
I’m a serious conservative. I’ll support Rudy if he gets the nomiation.
Wow, with only 14 months to go before the election, Fred might as well concede now. No chance he could make up 4% in that short a time. </sarc>
Me too.
Those who think Mrs. Bill Clinton will be a pushover are mistaken.
This will be a real barnburner of an election.
I hope and pray that America doesn’t choose to cut its own throat.
Same here. Hillary, Obama, or Edwards could all do severe damage to the country and our way of life. We are only a few ‘events’ away from huge changes in the world as we know it. If Iran gets nukes, we lose our will to hold Iraq in the sphere of moderation, China and Russia continue to cut specific deals on oil and other economic fronts that marginalizes us, Pakistan falls to extremists, and at the same time we pursue a domestic policy that socializes big ticket items (like health care) and pays for social programs at the expense of advanced defense systems, we will be in big trouble. People around the world either want what we have and are willing to take it from us, or despise our way of life and want to end it. Irrespective of disagreements I have with some Republican candidates on a variety of issues, I trust any of them infinitely more than any democrat when it comes to defending our country and our freedoms.
A Thompson/Giuliani ticket could bring great strength and star power to the general election.
That was the scariest post I’ve ever seen. This will be a very close election. Hopefully the “moderates” will see that a vote Her Shrillness is a vote for four years of Hell.
It could also mean that Rudy leads Hillary with 51%.
He's still the projection of the hopes of those who support him. Let's see if he can maintain that level of support once he actually has to campaign.
Ditto! The worst Republican is better than the best Democrat.
where?
He’ll need a surge in energy to defeat Hillary. She’s wanted this her whole life. According to reports, Fred hasn’t ever been interested. Guess who is going to work harder? Especially with Hillary being driven to prove that she’s just as competent as her husband. Republicans need to nominate someone who can match her energy at every step.
There is the story about the old bull and the young bull standing on the crest of the hill looking down on a herd of cows. The young bull says to the old bull, "Let's run down and get us some." The old bull slowly turns to the young bull and says, "Let's walk down and get'm all."
Energy is fine, but campaign strategy, defining your opponent, and framing the issues will decide who wins. As RR said to Mondale, " "I want you to know that also I will not make age an issue of this campaign. I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent's youth and inexperience."
