With a New Speech, Clinton Lays Out Goals as President [Combination Barfer/Nanny State Ping]
9/3/07

Posted on 09/02/2007 9:26:37 PM PDT by freespirited

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York unveiled a new stump speech on Sunday, outlining the “four big goals” she would have as president and saying she was willing to “work within the system” and make “principled compromises” to achieve them.

Praising the leadership styles of Presidents Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Lyndon B. Johnson, Mrs. Clinton described herself as a pragmatist and an alliance-builder. Without naming names, she said her strategies would yield more results than those of her two chief rivals for the Democratic presidential nomination, Senator Barack Obama of Illinois and former Senator John Edwards of North Carolina....

Mrs. Clinton, who has won praise from some Republican senators for working with them on legislation, said she would try to follow that approach as president, but without sacrificing important values like preserving Social Security and protecting abortion rights.

“You have to know when to stick to your principles and fight,” she said, “and know when to make principled compromises.”

In laying out her four goals, Mrs. Clinton did not announce any major new policy initiatives, though she did say she would unveil her universal health insurance plan in two weeks.

The four goals were largely thematic: “restore America’s standing in the world,” “rebuild America’s middle class and the economy to support it,” “reform our government” and “reclaim the future for our children.”

On the last goal, Mrs. Clinton turned more personal, saying she wanted her presidency to be a means of helping parents raise their children. “I want to be able to say to you as your president, ‘Our children are well,’ ” she said.

She sure does pat herself on the back doesn’t she? I’m surprised her arm is not broken from having to reach around so much.

“Mrs. Clinton, who has won praise from some Republican senators for working with them on legislation...”

NAMES, I want NAMES, although a list of The Usual Suspects would probably suffice.

Speaking about ultimate nanny state, check out John Edwards’ plan for “mandatory preventive care.”

“and saying she was willing to “work within the system” and make “principled compromises” to achieve them.”

See: Shamnesty, Clinton fundraising scandals, impeachment, Craig, Jefferson, etc. Its the “SYSTEM STUPID”, it is what’s broken now!!!!!!!!!

“Mrs. Clinton described herself as a pragmatist and an alliance-builder.”

Funny, I haven’t heard anyone else make these claims.

She's a hardcore radical. But she knows the moderates and independents don't like that kind of talk. So she is going to conceal her true agenda til after the election. Now all she has to do is convince the moonbats to sit down and shut up and refrain from upsetting the apple cart with loose talk that could frighten the sheeple until she is safely in the White House.

I just love the part about rebuilding the middle class. It’s just like her promises when running for the Senate. She was going to add an additional 250,000 jobs to upstate NY but instead we went down a additional 150,000+. Gosh what a kidder.
She will destroy America if given the chance. Amen.

4 big goals?

and none of em are...

1 stay out of the continual development of the american market economy

2 slash taxes to ensure skyrocketing prosperity

3 intimidate our enemies with every threat available

and

4 always operate on the principle that the gov’t that governs best goverens least?

i know goals i’ve seen goals i’ve met goals

and THOSE my friends are the worthiest of goals.

” “restore America’s standing in the world,” “rebuild America’s middle class and the economy to support it,” “reform our government” and “reclaim the future for our children.””

Cool...

How? Without a description of what she believes the “problems” to be and a plan on how she will address them, and pay for it, this statement is tantamount to saying “ I promise to make things better... Trust me.”

Will anyone in the MSM ask such questions or will she just get a pass? (”I don’t recall” is still her most meaningful, and characteristic public quote)

“I want to be able to say to you as your president, ‘Our children are well,’ ” she said.

Really Hillary, or you mean the ones that escaped the ABORTION MILL! Rats are really a bunch of nut cases when you consider that they talk about health care and ABORTION in the same paragraph.

How about this one...
“rebuild America’s middle class and the economy to support it,”

When you figure yhat during the 1st Clinton administration the idiots defined the rich as anyone making over $51,000 a year rich ( $72,000 a year for married couples who both were employed), I guess middle class falls below these figures. Following her thighness’s reasoning the rich will take a tax increase to prop up the ‘middle’. And how will the wealth be redistributed...you got it entitlement programs that NEVER GO AWAY.

Her thighness continues...

she would try to follow that approach as president, but without sacrificing important values like preserving Social Security...

Doesn’t take much thought here to figure out what Hildabeast
will do here now does it kids? Tax increases my adult children cannot afford and RAISING THE RETIREMENT AGE. My guess will be 70 for all as a start, but when the next pile of money is spent who knows where it will stop. You know its every Democrats dream to figure out a way to kill us off with the least expenditure of cash. This leads us to the former MS. Rodman’s favorite subject....

though she did say she would unveil her universal health insurance plan in two weeks.

ITS ALL IN THE PLANNING AND EXECUTION....

She is the smartest woman in America.....
