I don’t have intimate knowledge of CATO so I really am not sure about their worth. I do know there is no such thing as “free trade”. It’s a joke we tell ourselves instead of looking at the stupidity and reality of participating in these antiquated arrangements with our self-inflicted handicaps, year after year. Meanwhile, manufacturing jobs fly overseas, the Chicoms smoke a satellite in space and spot gets sick from the Prestone in his chow.

I am not sure about Hunter but I would wear that “free trade” rating like a medal.

That’s the problem - hanging around with conservatives, but you don’t know what we’re about

No I'm conservative, just not Republican.

who boo our Vice President in public

Oh so we just boo our leaders in private? You do realize the intent of the First Amendment was originally to protect political speech. You think booing is bad? Look at some of the old political cartoons. Booing is nothing.

who say they’d take our troops out of Iraq, Saudi Arabia, *and* Israel so Bin Ladin won’t get mad.

No because there's no need for them. You'll provide the Constitutional basis for having troops stationed in over 70% of the world will you?

Not to mention not being able to tell us how far they’d back off for Saddam, Kim Chong Il, and every other little tyrant.

Yes, after all under the Bush administration we've been throwing food and materials at the North Koreans faster than before (look it up). As for 'every other little tyrant', we're now in the business of fixing every problem? World's policeman eh? Good luck with that. I would point out how specifically history is repeating itself again but your Wilsonian worldview would discount it....

Mike Huckabee 6.4% (83 votes)
Rudy Giuliani 6.0% (78 votes)
Mitt Romney 4.7% (61 votes)

For not being a candidate yet and for not showing up, Fred did remarkably well.

I don’t have intimate knowledge of CATO so I really am not sure about their worth

No offense but that's the problem with new Republicans. CATO is one of the old standards of conservatism. It's been around for at least 30 years. If you claim conservatism as a moniker you should know some of their positions, whether you agree with all of them or not

Meanwhile, manufacturing jobs fly overseas, the Chicoms smoke a satellite in space and spot gets sick from the Prestone in his chow.

I think you're going to have to accept that manufacturing jobs are gone for the most part. If you want the goods at the prices you want to pay for them, they're gone. And protectionism is not the way to get them back. It's a way to make enemies quite quickly (as history has shown us time and again) but it won't work the way Hunter thinks it will. It's a good campaign stump issue that will get you votes but erecting trade barriers is not good policy.

As for spot getting sick, well I have cats and I had to watch what I fed them for awhile but government regulation is never the answer

Don’t forget that Hunter won the AZ straw poll, and tied Rudy and McCain in SC’s spartanburg straw poll and won the Arkansas Republican’s poll as well, edging out Fred.

Yes, if the Republicans were to nominate Ron Paul, the RNC would endorse HRC. Two of the three letters are the same anyway.

I think that most people who are voting for Paul are just so sick of GWB, McCain, and the RNC that they want to make “a statement”.

I still think that most of the Paul “vote” is from people totally disgusted with the GOP status quo people.

government regulation is never the answer

If government regulating immigration isn't the answer then I guess if the 2 billion poorest people in the world want to barge into the US we shouldn't stop them. Is that about right?
