SAN FRANCISCO - The Bush administration can go ahead with a pilot program to allow as many as 100 Mexican trucking companies to freely haul their cargo anywhere within the U.S. for the next year, a federal appeals court ruled Friday.
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals denied a request made by the Teamsters union, the Sierra Club and the nonprofit Public Citizen to halt the program.
The appeals court ruled the groups have not satisfied the legal requirements to immediately stop what the government is calling a "demonstration project," but can continue to argue their case.
The trucking program is scheduled to begin Thursday.
In court papers filed earlier this week, the Teamsters and Sierra Club argued there won't be enough oversight of the drivers coming into the U.S. from Mexico.
They also argued that public safety would be endangered in a hasty attempt by the government to comply with parts of the North American Free Trade Agreement.
The trade agreement requires that all roads in the United States, Mexico and Canada to be opened to carriers from all three countries.
Canadian trucking companies have full access to U.S. roads, but Mexican trucks can only travel about 20 miles inside the country at certain border crossings such as ones in San Diego and El Paso, Texas.
BTTT
And another BTTT!
Even my borax won't get rid of THOSE bugs!
When a politician seeks my vote, my first question is: Is he or she an American or a globalist. I will not be voting any longer for globalists, regardless of how "conservative" they purport to be.
Exactly what a great many of us have been saying for quite some time. I'm sick of hearing about "voting between the better of two evils" simply because someone has an "R" after their name. It makes no difference if there's an "R" and they're still a globalist. Candidates who are members of the Council on Foreign Relations, as far as I'm concerned, are automatically disqualified....that includes "FRED".
Then we'll be forced to crush them. Through the ballot of course. I'm a very no-violent sort of woman. :0
Lol, of course :0)
*gasp* how could you??
Speaking of forgetting to ping people - not sure if you’ve found this thread, but we’re causing trouble today :0)
Uh huh. That’s me, non-violent. Not a violent bone in my body. lol

" Last June we did something that had not previously been achieved; we handed the globalists there first real defeat of substance.
The people are rapidly waking up; we have powerful communication tools and we still have the power of the ballot. We can win and we will win. While the time is late, this war is far from over.
I no longer see the political landscape as one being divided between conservatives and liberals, between Republicans and Democrats, but rather as being divided between Americans and globalists."

Well said Colorado Buckeye.
Nic, It seems the outlook here is changing.
We defeated the globalists one time, they made an error and I doubt they make the same error again, but remember to keep watch on the spoon now and not the shovel :)
A good point. I am not a fan of Fred for this and other reasons. However, might I be mistaken? Am I passing judgement prematurely? Perhaps Fred didn't know what he was joining when he signed up at CFR.
Call me skeptical. Perhaps he can come around but he has a long way to go to prove it to me, to get my vote.
My first question to Fred would be: What is American culture and why is it important?
Next question: Do you support and will you defend America as a sovereign nation state, and what does that support and stance imply for you, as a would-be President, on the global stage?
My questions to him would be: will you quit this anti-sovereignty group and will you repudiate what it stands for?
I have to disagree with the argument that the globalists made an error and that that, by implication, is why we won the June battle.
Our situation is better than that. The globalists didn't make a mistake; they used all means at their disposal; and still, we won.
We won because our side grows stronger, and has been doing so, for some time, every single day. The globalists' power peaked with the CAFTA vote. They had to use trickery and deception to win that battle, and they were only able to pull it off with a two vote margin.
The globalists lost in June because we can now match their strength; and yet our strength continues to grow, day by day. The American people will win this war.
simple.
*spit*
: )
There was a video I saw of Fred that painted him in a very very bad light on this subject....I will have to try to find it...it has to do with the NAU...for that reason, I do not believe that he is at all ignorant as to what is going on...not at all.
If he answered that honestly, fine, but, he's on record for saying this:
"Were not afraid of globalization. It works to our benefit. We innovate more and invest in that innovation better than anywhere else in the world. Same thing goes for services. Free trade and market economies have done more for freedom and prosperity than a central planner could ever dream and were the worlds best example of that."
We should never forget how CAFTA passed.
Globalist extraordinaire and admirer of young men Jim Kolbe in an interview with Lou Dobbs:
DOBBS: Congressmen, we are out of time. But I do want -- our crack staff here has -- I do want to correct the record on something. Congressman Brown, you said twist Republican arms until they break in a thousand places. The actual quote -- and Congressman Kolbe, I want you to check this for us -- the "Washington Trade Daily" reporting you as saying, quote, "twist some Republican arms until they break in a thousand pieces."
KOLBE: I was saying that that -- the leadership is going to be doing a lot of arm twisting, and they are. This is true of any close vote like this.
BROWN: But never like this.
DOBBS: Especially in the dark of night, when I'm told that all Americans should fear our Congress in session.
KOLBE: Stay up and stay tuned. It will be a dramatic vote.
DOBBS: Oh, we will be up, believe me.
KOLBE: OK.

That’s a good quote too. Don’t give up on this stretch of the tracks!!!
We must be ever vigilante, whether it is because they erred, or because we grew stronger. They are passing acts by stealth and we also witnessed exactly how the house changed a vote...just recently, did we not??? Banana republic it is becoming, even on television they did this.
