South Florida Students Face Indictment for Carrying Explosives Across State Lines [Indicted]

Two Egyptian students at the University of South Florida were indicted Friday for carrying explosive materials across states lines and one of them was charged with teaching the other how to use them for violent reasons.

Ahmed Abdellatif Sherif Mohamed, 24, an engineering graduate student and teaching assistant at the Tampa-based university, faces terrorism charges for teaching and demonstrating how to use the explosives.

He and Youssef Samir Megahed, 21, an engineering student, were stopped for speeding in Goose Creek, S.C., on Aug. 4, where they have been held on state charges.

The two men were stopped with pipe bombs in their car near a Navy base in South Carolina where enemy combatants have been held. They were held on state charges while the FBI continued to investigate whether there was a terrorism link.

Can’t be. CAIR says they are innocent victims of “profiling.”

CAIR has problems of their own...

CAIR Revealed (IBD August 31, 2007)

For the first time, evidence in a major federal terror case puts CAIR's current executive director — Nihad Awad — at a Philadelphia meeting of alleged Hamas leaders that was secretly recorded by the FBI.

After the Associated Press last week reported the bombshell, CAIR denied claims of ties to Hamas. "That's one of those urban legends about CAIR," said Parvez Ahmed, CAIR's chairman. "It's fed by the right-wing, pro-Israeli blogosphere."

“Amazing how so many terrorists are caught because of vehicle violations?”

That has been the backbone of law enforcement for 45 years. You stop a guy with a missing tailight and find a stolen TV; you go after his buddies. The fingerprinting at the victim’s house is mostly pallative, a big act.

It looks like they would be among the 25% of people who need the large size of Breathe-Rite nasal strips.

>>>I’m sorry for giving him too much credit.<<<

Doctor, don't apologize for backing O'Rielly. I like the guy and he's right on 90% of his issues...including this one.

I just wish he'd interview Rita Katz...her "Terrorist Hunter" is one of the most amazing stories of the WOT you will ever read.

However, I doubt she would concent to be interviewed; she runs an organization called "Site Institute"....Site for International Terrorist Entities. Here's what she does:

SITE Intelligence Group Monitoring Service "By monitoring terrorist and extremist websites and penetrating password-protected Al Qaeda linked sites, SITE provides a state-of-the-art intelligence service to both practitioners and analysts to understand the adversary."

Studying the primary source propaganda, training manuals, and chatter of terrorists offers insight into terrorists and their activities that can not be obtained anywhere else. Failing to monitor terrorist propaganda is a failure in intelligence. To fulfill this need, the SITE Intelligence Group offers its Monitoring Service, which provides numerous daily translations of terrorist propaganda and multimedia from primary source terrorist websites.

In short....this woman does what the CIA hasn't figured out how to do....they're too busy undermining the administration. She is a true American Hero....in spades!!

Cheers....Hardstarboard

Now that it's out of the headlines and off to the side, they can tell us the truth.

Send them to Leavenworth and tell the inmates all about them (especially about how much they enjoy pain).

USF is an open, festering, sore down here, rife with muzzies and their helpers. There's damned-little that we can do about them except wait for them to do something illegal.

CAIR has them well protected behind the 1st ammendment, and any protesting against them is met with 'hate-speech' lawsuits and such.

But we know who they are, and we know what they are! ............... FRegards

The FBI had been after Sami al-Arian for years.

There were quite a few al-Arian types the FBI was aware of for years, but if you read Steve Emerson's work, you'll know agents couldn't even keep open-source files, such as newspaper clippings, on these people, due to the famous "wall" and threats of lawsuits for profiling (remember the Gore/Bush 2000 debate? -- it wasn't just about African-Americans, it was also about Muslims, who (CAIR) had been lobbying for anti-profiling legislation for years).

As far as why these people aren't always charged to the max, it's a matter of building the best case the FBI can, on whatever charge. Hearsay doesn't cut it in a court of law, and if you follow some of these terrorist types, you'll find a case is being built, on a completely different charge, in the background, while their lawyers (often bought and paid for by the Saudis, through CAIR) are fending off another charge.

You do the best you can with what you've got.

Yes, indeed, but why are they facing 20 years instead of execution?

Liberal lawyers.

I'll believe we're serious about islamist terrorism when the following happens:
1) The penalty for any and all terror related acts is death within 30 days.
2) Our borders are sealed and controlled.
3) All non-citizen Muslims are deported.
4) All Muslim "charitable organizations" are under 24x7 surveillance.
5) Islamic indoctrination is purged from our prison system.
I have more, but gotta go now.

Thank God he was finally deported.

He should have been put on an inner tube raft with a box of crackers and put to sea when the trade winds were blowing toward "Palestine".

According to officials familiar with the case, Mohamed has been arrested previously in Egypt on terrorism-related charges. He is said to have produced an Internet video showing how to build a remote-controlled car bomb.

Now there's a surprise. I wonder what Bush and Chertoff think about this.
