Some people would argue that Mohammed was a pedophile because of his 6-year-old wife, while others would argue against the proposition that Mohammed was a pedophile by saying that he waited until she was 9 before consummating the marriage. He's just applying present-day standards to the arabs of old. Doubtless in 7th century Mecca it was socially acceptable to rape a nine-year-old girl. I mean, all the prophets were doing it...
