Experts: For many gays, public sex means privacy

Many men who solicit sex in public places often are conflicted sexually and seek sex in those locations to maintain anonymity, psychiatric experts say.

Dr. Fred Berlin, an associate professor of psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore, compared homosexual sex at public places with heterosexual men who go to secret parts of town to solicit prostitutes and to drug addicts who find dealers on street corners away from their neighborhoods.

"This is not as complicated as people think," Berlin said. "It is often a case of people with very strong sexual cravings that are difficult to resist, people who are very conflicted and struggling" with their feelings and the stigma of embarrassment of having family members or the community find out.

Many years ago my hairdresser was gay & he was very nice. We got to be friends and shopping with him was better then shopping with my girlfriends. He was very dramatic and was always having hissy fits over the littlest things with his “other”. If they want to fight it doesn’t bother me. I just wish they would get out of the bathroom & back into the closet. I do not understand why they even call themselves Gay..Most seem pretty unhappy & strange to me.

Our whole culture is spiraling into chaos and is sowing the seeds of its own destruction. I pray that we have not yet reached the point of no return. The seed of "Burn it all down Man" is unfolding as a living nightmare as we abandoned the wisdom, sacrifice, and love given at great cost by those who came before us. Never the less, "As we have sowed, so shall we reap."

I don't really know what the good senator was doing, but like Ron White said "You can't fix stupid!". People busted for sex in a public restroom should be required to register as sex offenders.

Did you hear about the two gay guys that assaulted a woman underneath a bridge? One held her down, while the other did her hair...

Very true...I think we all better take a good look at what we've become...I surely don't like what I see. Most people I know are pretty normal & want to make the world a good place for their children. I know I am very worried for my children & grandchildren. Its a very sad state of affairs.

"Well then again, what sect of Christianity were we when we were a Christian nation?"

Founding Father Benjamin Rush said the following...

"Such is my veneration for every religion that reveals the attributes of the Deity, or a future state of rewards and punishments, that I had rather see the opinions of Confucius or Mahomed inculcated upon our youth, than see them grow up wholly devoid of a system of religious principles. But the religion I mean to recommend in this place, is that of the New Testament."

No need for sects... no need for devoidness either.

What a job to have. Imagine standing outside the john and interviewing perverts all day?

I think it is both gay and straight sex obsessive. Look how many straights want that title “Mile High Club” by having sex on an airplane toilet. It is definitely a person trait. I just have sex with my wife in bed most of the time. lol.

It’s how homosexuals catch and spread all their diseases.

So if homosexuals don't have sex in bathrooms, they never get any diseases?

Several things disgust me about this situation. First it is not a Democrat/Republican thing, it is a moral issue. The disgust is in the fact that the man is responsible for making our laws. What kind of people do we have making laws for this country? It seems that the American people could find 100 moral men to run the country. Moral means a respectable, law abiding person. The whole situation is creepy, embarrassing and tarnishes the soul of the country. No wonder the American people have little respect for our law makers. It upsets me that we the people must follow laws made by these filthy, tarnished creepy law breakers which include the Kennedy politicians down to this unknown Craig. The U.S. Senate is populated with men who are believed to have murdered, men who have murdered, men who have molested, men who have taken bribes and men who have committed adultery.

Well, duh.

Nobody wants to let a whore know where he lives or bring her back into his house. None of that getting to know you stuff is necessary. This isn't meaningful sex we're talking about: it's purely carnal. But to say that would be to contradict the homosexual agenda that wants to force us to see homosexuality as something other than a perversion of natural sexual desire.

Historically, when God divinely disciplines groups, such as nations, He frequently disciplines them because of the believers who have fallen away, disciplining His own children. He might allow an unbelieving nation be destroyed if it falls within His Plan, but generally in this Church Age characterized by His grace, unbelievers are allowed the latitude to discover the consequences of evil on their own and still hang around to discover the significance of what He has already provided. He knows from eternity past who will come to Him and is patient.

For those who of His which rebel, He will discipline.

The really scary thing is if He judges our nation as a group and determines that as a nation we are rebellious and have fallen away, deserving of divine discipline.

A handful of believers might be sufficient to stay His wrath for a while, but if the rest of the nation insists upon rebellion, then it might be best for the nation as a whole to be severely disciplined so that there is no doubt to believers that He is God.

I get more worried when I read about denominations electing homosexual biships and other believers condoning worldly perspectives in their daily thinking, than the behavior of criminals.

FWIW, the Adversary also hates homosexuals, if for no other reason they manifest that even he is unable to control sin.

"What I don’t understand is why we have undercover cops trolling restrooms for gays. I’m a straight guy and i would never think of calling the cops if some homo tapped his foot at me in a restroom. I’d just ignore it."

While my personal response would be generally the same as yours, my impression is the police were there because of the number of public complaints about what had apparently become an endemic practice in this airport and any other number of public restrooms.

I generally come down pretty hard on a lot of contemporary law enforcement attitudes and practices, and while there may be some questions about what specifically happened in Craig's case, I don't really have a problem with the "sting" being conducted here.

Whereas members of a community usually have a vested interest in maintaining reasonable conduct among its own members, or at least knowing what part of town to avoid, airports, bus stops, and Interstate Rest stops, are by definition, populated by transients who are "just passing through," and consequently have no vested interest in reporting indecent behavior (in fact there is a disincentive, should one be called back as a witness at a trial). As such, I have no problem with the police putting a little focus on this to maintain order for the traveling public at large.

I'll see your B.S. and triple it. Public bathroom sex is just part of the phallo-centric mentality of the typical sodomite and proof that 'lifestyle' is not normal. It's like saying my needs and cravings require me to deficate under tables at restaurants. It's the only privacy I can have, considering my cravings. And besides, what's the big deal, I'm under the table when it happens. Wrong is wrong - no matter what you call it.
