The dynamic performance by John Edwards at last Sunday's Democratic presidential debate, assailing his competitors for the nomination, got high marks from political reporters, Republican politicians and left-wing activists. But not from the Democratic establishment. Once their great hope for the future, Edwards now is massively unpopular among party regulars who neither like nor trust him. (Snip) Edwards has not worn well with party colleagues.

Edwards is the biggest phony in the race and even his own party faithful have realized it is true and want little to nothing to do with him.

Party politics! That’s one reason I would prefer to see a debate between the top three of each party, at once. Questions would be asked by a Fox representative and a CNN representative. None of the questions would be reviewed by the candidates prior to the debate. Even the moderators wouldn’t see them until the debate begins.

Why would any democrat not like the silky pony? He is solidly 1930s FDR to 1960s LBJ big government liberal. Hell he wants to make poverty his key issue (watch out Lydon), and he feels your pain, much like the paragon of liberal leadership the impeached President Clinton. He is much more focused and on message than Sen Kerry, and clearly Sen Obama. Finally, unlike either Ms Hillary or Obama the silky pony has actually won an election in the south. So what is not to like about him from a dem point of view? Methinks, from this writers point of view the problem is he isn’t Hillary. BTW, I view the silky pony and mad hatter OWLGORE the real threats in this election. I think the Dems are starting to realize that neither hills or osama can carry a majority.

Edwards is a loser.

And Novak is a despicable gas-bag.

I’ll never, but never, forgive that POS for his role and coverup of the truth in the Wilson+Plame+Fitz+Libby debacle.

Edwards practically wears a Sandwich Sign that reads “I’m a HYPOCRITE”!! Telling OTHERS to get rid of their SUVs while he has 4 at his HOUSE!!

Edwards is a multimillionaire lawyer who spent his whole life duping juries into thinking something “was” that really “wasn’t”. gullible lefties are finally figuring that out.

Two Edwardses—John and Edwin. Neither suited to be President. Perhaps Edwin would do less harm.

Actually I’ve been fascinated by Edwards approach to all of this. He says bombastic things in an attempt to appeal to the zealots in his party. He figures he can’t win the election if he cannot win the nomination. He understands that the party zealots carry a lot more weight in the primary system than the general election.

We have a person who takes a similar approach on the Republican side (saying bombastic things to appeal to the party zealots) but I won’t say who that is as I would rather just beat on Ron Paul and the Paulites.
