BOGOTA (Reuters) - A U.S. congressman said on Thursday he meant no offense when he hoisted himself onto the lectern of Colombia's lower house to address his Andean colleagues, some of whom were offended or simply amused by the faux pas.
Colombian newspapers carried pictures of Rep. David Dreier, a California Republican, sitting on top of the wooden podium and talking with local legislators on Tuesday while on an official visit.

David is on my list as one of the next Republicans to get caught Larry Craig style. The others are Lindsey Graham and Trent Lott.

Californian’s know david is light in his loafers - I am surprised the gay community keeps it so quiet. (IMHO) He is always on Hugh's show.

Well, Dreir was tireless in his defense of conservativism during the Clinton years.
Even if he is gay...I will forever be grateful to him for not giving into the liberals during that time.
He has an extremely high ACU rating.
Just saying this pre-emptively since I know there will probably be many posts bashing him for daring to sit on a lectern.

"many posts bashing him for daring to sit on a lectern."Maybe Drier considered that an acceptable position for his bottom and doesn't deserve this criticism.

This is the equivalent of going over to someone’s house for a visit and putting your feet up on their coffee table?.............

Ouch!
There is a term from the TV show “The Office” when clueless boss Michael Scott does something like this (he often puts his feet or butt on people's desks)..
“cringeworthy”.
Rep Dreier is definitely cringeworthy.

The picture looks like it might have been some kind of Q and A. He’s displaying typical American informality. A lot of Americans don’t realize much of the rest of the world isn’t as casual as we are.

He looks like he’s sitting on the ol’ Xerox at an office party and photocopying his ass

I had a male boss at a bank and he always put his foot on your desk so that you ended up looking at his you-know-what. Finally, the women complained and he had to stop, LOL.

Dreier was tireless in selling us Arnold Schwarzenegger as a "conservative" and still acts as his primary apologist on local talk radio. It's time for Dreier to go play in a train station restroom--the sooner he is out of power, the better, IMO.
