I didn’t see this already posted so here it is.
Holy jumpin surprise!
I doubt it pretty seriously.
I think he’s rode this gambit for all its worth, and if he doesn’t announce now he’ll be seeing a drop in his poll numbers.
I had no problem with him delaying it til now, but its time to get in or get out.
Maybe Fred can’t resist the fire in is belly any longer.
Let's not all get atwitter just yet, folks. This is from an un-named, unknown source "close to" a member of the committee.
I have a huge boulder of salt hanging around here somewhere.
I seem to recall on another “Fred Announces” thread a bit ago that there was plenty of big bucks riding on this.
As I recall - 8/31/07 was the “bet he doesn’t / bet he does” cut off.
Any one else remember that and the one guy who was taking all the action? He had a list of folks on at 50 clams a whack.
Bet he might be worried right about now.
Sources: Thompson to announce Sept. 6th
Fred Thompson’s campaign-in-waiting will hold a 4 p.m. conference call today with supporters to brief them on plans for the former Tennessee senator’s presidential announcement next week, according to an e-mail obtained by Politico.com.
Randy Enwright, Thompson’s political director, said in the message that they will “discuss the next steps as we move forward as an organization.” A Thompson aide confirms that they’ll share the news about the long-awaited formal launch. “By the end of the day, we’ll have more clarity,” the aide said, declining to reveal which day the announcement would take place.
UPDATE: Still no official confirmation from the campaign, but Thompson sources now confirm that he will announce his candidacy next Thursday, Sept. 6. The launch will include a tour of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Florida. As expected, Thompson will not appear at the GOP debate in New Hampshire on Wednesday, Sept. 5.
Is he invited to the debate?

Maybe it’s time for BREAKING?
It’s up at Red State now too..they have been close with Fred’s people for a long time now...
Doubt it.
He got a fair amount of pre-announcement hype. He rode that bullet (ref. song charts for definition) as far as he could. That bullet would turn negative if he waited much longer, right now it's about stagnate. The question everyone has had if whether he could increase the bullet once he dived in. We're going to find out.
...still betting on tuesday...
Announcement of the announcement of the status.
I doubt that. He'd have had to have his duckies in a row before that editorial in order to make an announcement today.
Sweet!
Fred Thompson said hes still testing the waters in his bid for the presidency. Hes been testing the waters for what, like six months now? In fact, those arent wrinkles on his facehes starting to prune up from being in the water for so long.
You forgot the “may be” in the section you added to the title
