Let's cut to the chase: conservative Republicans have only one choice for President in 2008: Congressman Ron Paul of Texas. Unlike the GOP frontrunners, Paul is the real deal.
No real conservative could support Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, John McCain, Fred Thompson, or Newt Gingrich. When it comes to historic conservative principles, each of these men is as phony as a three dollar bill. That they are now attempting to cast themselves as conservatives is more than laughable: it is downright hilarious.

If one wants a true photograph of how a congressman or senator votes on conservative, constitutional issues, the best place to look is the Freedom Index in the New American Magazine. Ron Paul almost always ranks as the most conservative congressman from either chamber or either party. His current ranking is 100%, which is a score that few congressmen or senators, except Ron Paul, ever achieve. And Paul does it routinely.

Ron Paul said these words, "I have never been one who is comfortable talking about my faith in the political arena. In fact, the pandering that typically occurs in the election season I find to be distasteful. But for those who have asked, I freely confess that Jesus Christ is my personal Savior, and that I seek His guidance in all that I do. I know, as you do, that our freedoms come not from man, but from God. My record of public service reflects my reverence for the Natural Rights with which we have been endowed by a loving Creator."
Could conservative Christians ask for a testimony that is any clearer?
Should Ron Paul win the Republican nomination, he would almost certainly win the general election. His constitutional, common-sense ideals would be attractive to such a broad range of voters, I dare say that he would win a landslide victory, no matter who the Democrats nominated. Conservatives, independents, libertarians, union members, and even some liberals (mostly those who oppose the war in Iraq and Bush's Big Brother schemes) would support Ron Paul. The challenge is winning the Republican nomination.
Conservative Republicans have only one choice for President in 2008: Ron Paul.
My problem with You-Know-Who is not his religion, but his track record as a flip-flopper on key issues such as abortion.
Ron Paul will defeat Hillary Clinton
Ron Paul will be the Republican Nominee.
Ron Paul will have a landslide.
Ron Paul is a serious candidate in every way, shape, and/or form.
Ron Paul, is acceptable domestically and his foreign policy stances are essential to the existence of the United States.
Real Conservatives will look at the only choice available and choose a nominee, who can (a) kill bin laden, (b) defend our borders, abolish the IRS and other useless government agencies, restore the 2nd amendment, appoint conservative judges, and (c) move the conservative agenda forward on all issues.
Ron Paul is that man.
I know, I know, the purity of the Party ideology MUST be preserved, and to hell with the country and the world for that matter.
It must be nice to live so far outside reality.
He sure has convinced me
R. Paul has the support that Tancredo and Hunter have combined. Tancredo and Hunter sure have made an impact in the "Conservative" GOP
maybe a shot is the ass with my Daisy BB gun will change your mind.... :)
I think tripe is guts
wink. wink.
That's why he endorsed GW Bush.....both times.
Interestingly, "The Train Kept a-Rollin' (All Night Long)" was first recorded by Tiny Bradshaw in 1951--the year that "Shrimp Boats" was a hit for Jo Stafford.
Yeah, it’s a damned ground swell...
Regardless, he’s still the better candidate.
Please, PLEASE do not confuse “Libertarian” with “Conservative” here. While the ideals of least government being the best government are appealing, the prospect is also tantalizing. The more we grow closer to the “less government” ideal, the further we get from the means and tools to control encroaching manipulators who take advantage of apparent disinterest and mistake it for apathy.
Sure, there should not have to be clandestine wiretapping of international phone calls. After all, gentlemen do not read other gentlemen’s mail.
But “other persons” are NOT, most emphatically, all “gentlemen”. There still has to be the steel fist concealed in the velvet glove. The reality is, that much of the world does NOT consider America to be the “shining city on the hill”, and in fact, they may have little use for visions of “shining cities”.
There are two ways of addressing this conundrum, one of which is to draw up a “Fortress America”, in which all contact with the outside world is cut off, and we stand, a mighty keep that holds off all assaults at our borders, while keeping everything here locked down into a dungeon. The other extreme is to embrace our destiny as center of a world-wide empire, extending a “Pax Americana” over the world, acting as the world’s final arbitrator and meting out retributions to the offenders of the peace, doing the job that the UN or similar organizations will not do.
As it happens, this nation has vacillated between both these positions, never really finding a permanent position on the range of ways in which we project our power. We have called upon our accumlated wisdom, compiled through a great deal of trial and error (a LOT of error, by the way), picking and choosing that which seems to have worked a little better than others. Some things have not worked, and there are those who STILL keep trying to bring them back, while some perfectly adequate solutions are constantly scrapped and poorly thought out schemes are substituted in their place.
HA!
Paul for .....LOL.......
It ought to be "Herring Boats," Mickey Katz's spoof of "Shrimp Boats," from 1951.
Interestingly, “The Train Kept a-Rollin’ (All Night Long)” was first recorded by Tiny Bradshaw in 1951—the year that “Shrimp Boats” was a hit for Jo Stafford.
Huh...I never knew that. Thanks!
I also didn’t know the reference to the ‘Shrimp boat song’ was real....(chuckle)

In short, We should keep Ronald Reagan's 11th commandment, "Thou shalt not speak evil of any other Republican" your post(s) denigrate many other contenders, stop, for you look worse than those you disparage. (advice: it's worth every penny you pay for it, sometimes even more.) |
