As an Iowa voter I have observed a lot of the candidates from both parties close-up. Just on the basis of how they present themselves, I would have to say Mitt Romney is by far the most impressive. I'm not the first to say he LOOKS like a President, and you may dismiss that aspect, but the fact remains a lot of voters DO base their decisions on which candidate seems the most Presidential. I also think Mitt is the smoothest-talking pol of any modern candidate since Bill Clinton. He has an impressive resume of actually accomplishing something in the private sector (unlike Dubya who failed at everything except when his daddy's cronies bailed him out with a sweetheart deal) And when the American public gets a good look at Mitt's family, they are going to be won over. Which candidate -- Republican or Democrat -- can compete with THAT? Have you looked at the campaign videos of the Romney clan at Christmas? The Boston Globe also did a multi-part video documentary on Romney that is impressive and it is not a campaign puff piece. The Romneys are the GOP equivalent of the Kennedy clan. It's VERY hard to not believe this is a good man when you see and hear how his boys talk about him. In fact, it's downright poignant. He can overcome the Mormon backlash just like JFK did his Catholicism. Compare Mitt's wholesome family to the divorced Rudy, whose own kids won't support him. Or Hillary who has the philandering hubby. Or Fred Thompson who has a trophy young wife. The Romney family looks like they are right out of Norman Rockwell and that will have a VERY, very strong appeal to the voters once they get to know them.
Hiya Neal!
Welcome to Free Republic, and thanks a bunch for signing up today just to post this sugary drivel!
Say, here’s a friendly piece of advice: your sugary drivel would be easier to read if you break it up into paragraphs!
Well hello there......
A vanity in News/Activism and your first post....
Hope you enjoy your stay.
A lot to agree with here.
Funny stuff troll, sign up, post vanity.
Thanks for giving FR a bad first impression.
Duncan Hunter.
Matt Damon!
What about his flipflops? Does the man have a core value or if he a panderer?
Which candidate — Republican or Democrat — can compete with THAT?
Some on here would say Ron Paul.......
>> Thanks for giving FR a bad first impression.
Yeah, right. I’ll prolly be responsible for a 30% drop in readership.
No, actually, I think vanity threads filled with meaningless crapola are a bigger danger.
Here, allow me to help you edit that down into a more readable version.
Your long, run-on paragraph can pretty much be summarized as follows:
“I’m supporting the liberal guy. He’s cute.”
In case no one clued ya: This is a conservative website.
Unintended irony!
I told you, this is sometimes a very hostile place for civil people to visit.
Thanks for the insight. It gives the rest of your little screed great credibility. I should care about the rest of it...why?
“He has an impressive resume of actually accomplishing something in the private sector (unlike Dubya who failed at everything except when his daddy’s cronies bailed him out with a sweetheart deal) “
For one this nasty, and confrontational, and transparent, at least an hour.
