Man Who Put Girls’ Photos on Internet to Exit a State
ASSOCIATED PRESS ^ | August 27, 2007 | ASSOCIATED PRESS

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 26 (AP) — A self-described pedophile said he would leave California after a judge ordered him to stay away permanently from places where children gather, the man told a television station for a report that was broadcast Sunday.

“I have to leave the state, really, I can’t live here under this Orwellian protocol,” the man, Jack McClellan, told the station, KABC. “It’s nightmarish.”

Mr. McClellan did not say where he planned to go. He did not immediately return a message left on his cellphone by The Associated Press. He has been unemployed and living in his car since arriving in Southern California this summer from Washington State.

Mr. McClellan, 45, came to the attention of the authorities because of a Web site where he posted photographs of children in public places and discussed how he liked to stake out parks, public libraries, fast-food restaurants and other areas where little girls congregated. His Internet service provider took down his Web site more than a month ago.

Mr. McClellan maintained he started the site as a form of therapy and would not do anything illegal. He has never been charged with molesting.

But on Friday, the judge, Melvin Sandvig of Los Angeles County Superior Court, issued a permanent injunction and a three-year restraining order that prohibit Mr. McClellan from coming within 30 feet of schools, playgrounds and other places where children congregate.

Watch out, he'll turn up somewhere else. My guess is Oregon or Nevada.

I wouldn’t recommend Texas ... we’ve got a concealed carry law, and we’re pretty good shots out here.

What is the season in those places? Is there a bag limit? Does one need a special tag? Can a nonresident get a hunting license?

I’m sure the ACLU will be taking up his appeal any minute now.

And forget Alaska - they’ll never find the body. BTW - no need for a CCW permit in this State, we fully support the right of citizens to keep and bear arms.

The bears are pretty mean as well.

A creep like this showed up once taking pictures at a playground where my kids were playing. I told them to stay away from him and he backed away after he saw I made him. He seemed to favor the boys.

I felt like taking a shower afterward.

The most liberal, lenient, permissive state in the union is nightmarish for perverts? I hope he learns what 'nightmarish' means real soon.

We can keep our arms ... we just can’t “bare” them until the other guy draws first.

Not in E. Oregon; the feds can’t even find the radio collared wolves that have wandered there, so what chance does a unemployed pervert living in his car have at survival there. Portland, now, just might welcome him as contributing to a more diverse population.

I have a simple solution for this poor man.

1) convert to Islam
2) move to a Muslim country

Then he can marry the 9 year old girl of his dreams.

Mr. McClellan’s days are numbered. Someone, somewhere is going to kill him. I’m not promoting it, just saying it’s gonna happen.

Don’t come to Nevada. They’ll make him wish he hadn’t if he does.

Guy doesn’t know where he would go?

Almost certainly, he will gravitate to Las Vegas.

Not that there are any depraved people in that town.

Or he could turn up at the Kennedy family compound at Hyannis Port. They would understand.

Not just you. I can’t imagine any good reason for exit a state, which suggests various meanings, instead of exit California.
