I've noticed that about the Breck Girl: vain, pretentious, arrogant and self-absorbed to a fault. He makes demands on others he won't make on himself. Let's ask John Edwards when he will give up his multi-million dollar lifestyle to save the environment. I bet we won't hear the answer we want any time soon.

One wonders if Edwards really gave any thought to this. Does he realize what "giving up" SUVs would do to fishing and hunting industries? To boating or camping industries? To those who use their SUVs for running a business, or shuttling larger numbers of people?
If he didn't consider that impact, shame on him.
If he did consider that impact and is aware of it, and still endorses it, then the man is truly evil.

I have a solution! I don't like SUVs and therefore don't own one. Therefore, for the bargain price of just $1,000/year, I will happily sell SUV offset
indulgences credits to anyone who has an SUV and needs to assuage the unbearable guilt of stealing the precious resources John Edwards needs to fly his campaign jet between his enormous home and his enormous beach house.
Act now! Supplies at this price are limited!

When Pink Sapphire buys me an Infiniti M to replace the SUV which I paid for with my hard earned money, then I will give it up. And oh, after he gives up his SUVs, private jets, etc.

Sen. Edwards, Americans want their cars; not your phoney balony ones that are part of the scam of global warming. We are sick to death of you guys dictating what’s right for us; when we know you neither care or have a clue.
Oh yes, the American people have adapted a new rule and that is all global warming people must walk period. No ifs, ands or buts.

Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards told a labor group he would ask Americans to make a big sacrifice: their sport utility vehicles.Oh, the article made a slight misprint. Let me help. It should read:
John Edwards told a labor group he would ask the little Americans to make a big sacrifice: their sport utility vehicles.
Emphasis on their. You know, us regular folks sacrificing all for that 'common good'.
We don't really think that Silky Pony is going to ask Algore or his big fundraisers to lose their SUV's, do we? But, shhh, I suspect we aren't really supposed to guess that - yet.

...he thinks Americans are willing to sacrificeI would like to see him and his family try to bust drifts 20 miles from the nearest town in -30F weather and 25 mph wind (fairly normal winter driving here) in one of those roller skate cars. Then we can talk about it.
In the meantime the 'tropical' Breck Girl can STFU about it.

My wife was hit by three trucks on the interstate. One hit her from the rear. This spun her around, and a second and third creamed her as she spun. She got out without a scratch. She was driving a Suburban. If she had been in anything else, she would have been killed. I'm going to keep her driving Suburbans.
