She knew he was a liberal arts major wimp when she married him. You marry a St Bernard, you don’t get to complain about the slobber.
This lady is so image centric that she is putty in Bacardis hands. They want her to buy rum and so all they need to do is put a mojito in the hands of one of the sex and the city gals as well as a Cosmo model and this lady is divorcing her husband to find a man who can make a good mojito.
Oh man. That’s the cherry on the turd.
Hey, I liked the line. I was laughing very hard to myself as I wrote it.
The above is the creed of someone totally self centered and immature.
In contrast, the family is the basis of Western civilization. As a parent, you quickly learn that not everything is about yourself. There are much greater rewards in life than getting it on with a different woman every night.
People acting like dogs in heat are not a positive factor for our culture’s health and survival.
Have you read “The Politically Incorrect Guide to Women, Sex, and Feminism”?
You’re absolutely correct in your assertion about the purpose being to destroy Western civilization. Feminism, multiculturalism, welfare, socialism - these all have the same goal.
Men and feminists alike refuse to accept this, but it's the whole ball game. Women still want to marry up, and will never be satisfied in a relationship where they can't trust their man and follow his lead. It doesn't matter if she is CEO of Microsoft and he is a part-time handyman (and I've known a few couples like that) - the relationship won't last unless the part-time handyman is the boss/leader/alpha figure of the two.
So I don't have any problem with Amy's article - except that she has repeated her mistake. What she is really saying here is that she desperately wants her man to take the lead - but feminist dogma has left her terrified of potential "abusers", so she has once again selected a safe, college-student-like figure who won't challenge her on any level. And another divorce in about three years.
The ONE good thing is that he is not getting married. At least he knows himself and doesn’t go into a church with all his parents and friends to take this women in sickness or health, later just to trade her in when he can do better later on.
Of course it does! "Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior... Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy."
Marriage isn't a democracy. It can't be. It isn't a business partnership. It's a union of two souls. It's a daily struggle against our own selfishness. Unselfish people will enjoy happy marriages. Selfish people destroy them.
That being said, some people are married to saints, and some people are married to saint-makers. Most of us are a bit of both 8-)
I try to remember to pray for her while I'm at church on Sunday mornings. But I'll especially pray for our nation.
What’s wrong here is that she is doing the lather-rinse-repeat cycle, and she has a young daughter caught in the mechanism.
She gets violently attracted to a man who reflects her fantasies (lather) she dumps him (rinse) and she gets violently attracted to a man who reflects her fantasies (repeat).
Note, too, she got custody. And Bachelor #2 gets unsupervised unlimited access to the daughter. As will anyone he invites over while Ms. Amy dazzles in the business world.
bump for later
The rest is just details.
Unfortunately, life, society and families require a little more than that.
Think about it!
As a former “high end successful woman,” I would say that you’re spot on. In college, I always sneered at the girls pursuing less high powered careers like teaching in part because I thought that no intelligent, successful man wanted an MRS degree type. I really thought that men would be turned on by my Ivy League law degree. In truth, they could care less as you said. And if anything, it only made most of them uncomfortable with a woman who was better educated than they were.
I also believe that women have a fundamental need to respect and look up to their men. If they cannot, the dynamics of the relationship get completely screwed up as this article shows. Call it shallow or whatever, but it’s true.
(And FWIW, I ended up married to a man in the 1% and now stay home with our kids. If I had stayed on the high end career track, I would have been miserable. As it is, I am very happy with my life save for the harping of other people telling me that I am wasting it.)
Cuban rum-based cocktail that is all the rage among trendies these days....
From Wikipedia:
Mojito (pronounced IPA: [məˈhiː.toʊ] (English) [mo'xi.to] (Spanish)) is a traditional Cuban cocktail which became popular in the United States during the late 1980s, and has recently seen a resurgence in popularity.
A mojito is traditionally made of five ingredients: spearmint, rum, sugar (traditionally sugar cane juice), lime, and carbonated water[1]. Its combination of sweetness and refreshing citrus and spearmint flavors are intended to mask the potent kick of the rum, and have made this clear cocktail a popular summer drink. Many hotels in Havana also add Angostura bitters to cut the sweetness of the mojito; while a popular variation, it is not the original version created in La Bodeguita del Medio[1].
To make a Mojito, juice from a lime is added to sugar and mint leaves in a tall glass. The mixture is then gently mashed repeatedly with a muddler. Crushed ice is then added, followed by rum and topped off with club soda.
The word mojito is derived from the diminutive of the word mojo.[2]
Yep. When my late husband stayed home for a while with our son, dinner was on the table, the house was clean, and the clothes were washed. Staying home is a job; if you're not going to do that job, go out and get another one.
Another person that cannot make a commitment and lives in fantasy land.
Read Tammy Bruce's The Death of Right and Wrong for an excellent perspective on them....
Damn! I am in Houston and coming up your way! I got money, divorced, and need a stable of girls!
You mean Mrs Doubtfire? I couldn't stand it either. Especially with that a-hole Robin Williams who, in real life, dumped his children's mother to marry their nanny. What else can one expect from a Hollyweird nut, whose talent has never been evident to me....
