Absolute vanity about tattoos.

Posted on 08/28/2007 9:06:17 PM PDT by ozaukeemom

Over the years, I have thought about getting a tattoo. Surprising considering my fear of needles! lol I see them everywhere on every classs of person, I see the artwork vary from onr body to another. What causes someone to decide to have a tattoo. Is it cultural? Is it a fad? I am seriously thinking about it now. Any stories, suggestions? Thank you!

Nothing I know of lowers my opinion of a woman faster than seeing she has a tattoo. Well, that and any woman who has excess piercings. By excess I mean any more than one hole in each earlobe.

LOL. I doubt ozaukeemom is looking to date YOU, so the reason you provide for not getting a tattoo probably doesn't matter a whole lot. Unless she of course has expressed a romantic obsession with you or your profile I'm not familiar with.

Now, the HepC infection study that somebody posted is much more convincing.

Oh, and I find naval rings sexy. Every woman should immediately run out and get one b/c I find them sexy. In a word... do!

from a shrink:

What causes someone to decide to have a tattoo?

A desire to fit in with others, to belong. To find your own sense of belonging by superficially changing your exterior rather than your internal feelings.

My suggestion......make some new friends.

Geez, don't you know what's inside your own mind?

Added to that one,and now have 18 on my arms.

You're an addict. You can't kick the endorphin release habit. Might as well just do opium. Same feeling, but your skin is spared.

seems vaguely un-christian

I'm guessing you don't like them, but are attempting to project your own dislike onto Christ.

Attributing your own opinion to Christ seems more than vaguely un-Christian to me.

Not very ethical. Gross abuse of power and apparent medical malpractice in my opinion. What a jerk.

LOL. If you were to go into surgery, would you refuse the surgeon painting the incision point on your stomach before making the cut? It is possible to over-interpret the Bible. I doubt that Revelations was concerned with skating rinks.

You mean you wouldn't like something like this on a woman? It's a very classy tattoo.

Just what we need - another sh**house psychiatrist.

I compose ads to send to Goldmine magazine out of Grafton, Wisconsin, and the guy I always deals with has 90 acres up there, he LOVES Wisconsin!

Ozaukee created the Blues with their Paramount Records recording studios. Great place!

You probably do. The rest of us don't need a "sh**house" evangelist speaking on behalf of, and judging for, Christ.

I’m going to bed now and I haven’t read the answers to the tattoo question that this link provides, but it does like the issue comes up for believers.

The lady who started this thread asked for opinions, and she got 'em. Is that difficult for you to understand?

Find a higher quality group of friends to hang with. They will pull you up to their level.

Remember back when you were a kid and you liked Barney songs? Remember when you thought that a Barbie doll was really cool and you wanted all the latest Barbie fashions to dress her up in? Now you can't stand the sight or sound of either of them. Tastes change. Your tattoo won't.

Half the *opinions* were "sh**house" psychiatry themselves. Once the religious judgement kicked in, I chose to counter.

This is a *discussion* forum. Exposed nerves are going to get smacked.

Is that difficult for you to understand?

I just saw the show that you're referring to this evening. It's called "LA Ink," about a tattoo shop opened by Kat Von D.

She and her "crew" really do some amazing artwork, stuff that I wasn't aware that was possible with tattoos! I'm talking about portraits of family members! These people are artists, although I'd never get a tattoo. I happen to think that Kat (and a few of her employees) are pretty cute, but I find the tattoos a real turn off - My personal .02.

My dad told me that the only tattoo he’d pay for me to get is if I had “I”M AN IDIOT” tattooed on my forehead.
