Absolute vanity about tattoos.

Posted on 08/28/2007 9:06:17 PM PDT by ozaukeemom

Over the years, I have thought about getting a tattoo. Surprising considering my fear of needles! lol I see them everywhere on every classs of person, I see the artwork vary from onr body to another. What causes someone to decide to have a tattoo. Is it cultural? Is it a fad? I am seriously thinking about it now. Any stories, suggestions? Thank you!

I think tats look dirty. Every time I see one, that’s my first thought. I think the same thing about facial piercings. I do like the belly button piercings but would never get one because a friend did and it became infected and looked nasty and painful.

I don’t mind tats on men when it’s one on an arm.

I hope that’s not you.

That person looks very empty, isolated, lonely, berift . . . almost waif-like.

I think that way too. For some reason, I don’t find a tat on a military man’s arm icky.

LOL. You are defending your belief that a hand stamp to get into a skating rink was the mark of the beast? Or that it "might have been?"

It was offered as such.
Method and medium do not matter.
As a matter of fact, the simple act of being asked to accept and agreeing is enough.
No physical act or mark is necessary.

Have a Nice Day.

Everytime I see that photo, I tend to grieve for what seems like such a lost soul.

I think the expression of a clean natural neck and wrist is much more beautiful and sexy.

. . . and more mature as well as more sane.

Hah hah.. That last one was so predictable.

Everybody who got this far knew you would do it again, I assure you.

Why? Because there is nothing left for you to say. You have been reduced to the retorts of a 6 year old.

Go for 4 Kozak. Let us all see how clever you REALLY are!

Funny, my Bible didn't say all that. Yet you seem so sure of yourself. You must be privvy to a special Bible, along with a direct line to God for further clarification.

Since you have this specialized knowledge, can you please enlighten us by answering the other questions?

That’s the way I think of tats, too. A friend of mine got one a few years ago. I don’t know what it really was but it looked like barbed wire around her upper arm. My husband thought it looked like a ring of dirt.

I didn’t realize that tats were so popular with women until about 5 years ago when we were at a local amusement park - Clementon Park. Just about every female had one on her lower back.

because it just does not look professional.

= = =

That’s simply a FACT.

And when folks think something is not professional—whether consciously or unconsciously . . . they are concerned that they won’t be treated sufficiently well to give the establishment repeat business.

No one likes to pay to be treated UNprofessionally.

It’s an issue of JUDGMENT. And that aspect of looking unprofessional convinced most people that the person with the tattoo lacks sound, mature, wise judgment. Therefore, they are not interested in such a person serving them in what should be a more professional way for what they, the customer are paying for.

Avoid permanent marks of temporary wants.

That SURE COVERS

an OCEAN FULL

of issues, factors, choices, actions, misdoings . . . well beyond tattoos.

Great one.

and deplores mangling the temple He wants to inhabit.

Do you get hair cuts, or shave? Do you have pierced ears? Are ear piercings "mangling the temple" as you put it? How about cutting my toenails? Did Jesus instruct me to let them grow out?

OK, I’ll confess, I secretly stereotype. And when I see a tattoo, the class of the person automatically drops a level or two.

If you’re interested in how most guys view it, each square inch of visible tat is about equal to adding four pounds of fat, and requires 2/3 of a beer to ameliorate the effects of it.

If a girl wants to get noticed, get in shape physically. If a soft girl walks in with a tat, and a physically fit girl walks in without one, the guys will flock to the fit girl. There’s an evolutionary reason for that.

= = =

EXCELLENT POINTS.

To each their own. Personally, I don’t care much for tatooes on women nor, for that matter, body piercings other than the ears.

Tatooes will eventually go out of style and all these young women are going to rue the day they gave into a stupid fad. It’s not like other stupid fads, like the nehru jacket, that can be taken off and discarded.

It used to be only military guys would get tattooes and only after a night of heavy drinking. And most of them (of those I know)ended up regretting their indiscretions. They spend the rest of their life embarrassed about them and attempting to cover them up.
