It's great actually having a real battle, rather than some backroom-annoited golden boy like we've had in the last four elections.

Hear hear, and even better that it's happening in both parties. Of course, the Democrat race is looking like a mutual admiration society so far, but give it time.

Who knows, we could even see not one, but two brokered conventions. Of course, I'm a bit leery of what could happen in a brokered Republican convention, especially if the delegates break down about where the candidates are in national polls now. It should be interesting anyway, though.

If I had to have a RINO VP, Giuliani would be OK. Romney would probably be better RINO VP choice, though.

A shot to the head, versus a shot to the heart.

Either way you're just as dead. The only difference is in how long it takes you to die...

Well, RINO Rudy would be too old 8 years from now to run.

RINO Romney — not so.

Balance the ticket, and all that. A liberal VP is (generally) harmless.

The last time we got a squishy, conservative "convert" northeastern RINO as VP, it turned out to be George HW Bush. No thanks.

A certain GHW Bush proves that statement wrong.

I won’t vote for any ticket that has Giuliani or Romney on it. Multiply by millions.

There are two main reasons to pick one of them as a running mate, and that is to deliver independents and other swing voters, and to put northeastern states in play. Giuliani accomplishes both better than Romney. Now, which would be a better VP, I'm not sure. I know I'm in the minority here, but right now, I'm more leery of Romney than Rudy.

Hopefully Fred has enough appeal in the center that he won't need either as a running mate, but we won't know that until closer to the general election. It I was betting, I'd put my money on Tim Pawlenty. I'm holding out hope for a dark horse outsider like Tommy Franks, though.

Ah, think that through, grasshopper.

Bush, Sr. was a FINE VP.

The problem with Bush, Sr. is he was too young, ergo the RINO VP become the RINO POTUS.

Guiliani, being an old fart, does not have the succession RINO threat -— Romney does.

I sense a great disturbance in the force. It is as if millions of Also-Ran supporters heads exploded all at once.

"Tell us why you say that."

Another Duncan Hunter fan without a clue.

"Your candidate sucks, mines the best and the only true conservative."

It doesn't matter he will never be more than a distant blip on the radar.

"Thompson/Giuliani '08"

You're really asking for it with that one.

Bad idea, God forbid anything happens to Fred, we will need someone to carry the flame not piss on it.

Amazing how effectively the man’s own words work against him, ain’t it.

"Fred’s supporters keep saying the media and other candidates are “afraid” of Fred; I think it’s the other way around - otherwise he would not be avoiding his awesome responsibilities in the quest for the presidency."

If you have been reading (Which you have) the news where Thompson has many shakeups on his "team" you would know he wants one in place that he will stick with.

Kinda like hiring an employee that doesn't work out.

I didn’t think the guy had an real reason for saying what he did. That’s why I asked the question the way I did.

It sure got quiet after that...

I like Duncan Hunter. It doesn’t make much difference if he can’t get his numbers up though.

We can’t let someone siphen of votes. Now I say that because I don’t want to defeat ourselves, but if we get another Republican Democrat in there, I’ll just sit this one out.

If we as a party can’t do better than the idiot that’s running California and the other guy, I’m going to have to wait until a party comes along that has at least half a clue.

My patience is shot.
