While I generally agree with this statement, there is (or can be) one exception: I have on rare occasion continued posting to someone who has attempted to insult me, been a smart ass, spoken up without knowing or even caring about all the facts, etc. Jerks that are run and hide behind mommy weenies after they’ve been exposed should be dealt with — not with name calling, but with the inconvenient truth.

We've received many requests from freepers requesting that other freepers not post to them. There are several problems with this.

1. It's impossible for us to enforce.
2. We don't have the time to enforce these requests.
3. We don't have the software to keep track of these requests.
4. Thick skin helps.
5. Ignore the poster, if you don't reply, they won't reply.

I also dislike it when someone says they weren’t posting “to” another person. A public post is not a private conversation. If someone doesn’t want others to “butt into” their conversations, that’s what freepmail is for. Otherwise, they ain’t THEIR conversations, they’re OURS. A public post is an open invitation to anyone to comment.

If one thinks before hitting the “Post” button, the responses are usually quite responsible, if not they are usually from cranks breaking FR rules and routed by the Admin. Monitor anyway.

Someone says, “don’t post to me” but then makes a comment requiring a response in that same post. This will make at least one more posting necessary.

Someone says, “don’t post to me” and then continues pinging the person they just excommunicated.

Someone says, “don’t post to me” and then continues referring to the excommunicated one in their posts.
