The Royal 22nd Regiment has little to do with Montcalm, whose forces were defeated on the Plains of Abraham on September 13, 1759 by the 43rd and 47th Regiment of Foot, The Frasers,78th Highlanders, (who were instrumental in the attack, and their battle was joined under the Highland Pipes), due to the superior strategy of the general Wolfe , and his use of the element of surprise, as well as the superiour volley fire power of the British lines.

The French forces were routed and fled the field , abandoniong it to the Highlanders who pursued with swords drawn in a Highlan charge. The Frasers sustained the heaviest casualties of any regiment that took the field that day.

The Royal 22nd Regiment served the British Crown from their inception in 1914, and then after Canada became a dominion, served under the Governor General of Canada, representative of the British Crown. But I suppose the liberals in Canada like the true facts to be ignored, in order to pay lip service to Quebec Nationalism, now a boner if ever their was one.

The Van Doos are a damn fine bunch of soldiers, generally they are Canadians first, and have little to do with the Quebec socialist liberal moonbats who are defaming their deployment in theater.
