Happy Birthday BBQ for Ron Paul
Ron Paul 2008 ^ | August 28, 2007 | Neal Moore

Posted on 08/28/2007 2:11:50 PM PDT by NapkinUser

Texas City, Texas – An overflow crowd of energized supporters rose to their feet and cheered as Congressman Ron and Mrs. Carol Paul arrived; a chorus of “Happy Birthday” for Dr. Paul then followed from the standing-room-only gathering, mainly of constituents from Texas’ 14th congressional district.

From the cutting of the birthday cake, through a fundraising auction featuring photographs and mementos, a Ron Paul autographed Constitution copy and commemorative edition Martin Henry Rifle, the crowd erupted frequently into applause, making this Texas-style auction anything but silent.

After those gathered enjoyed plates stacked high with chicken and beef BBQ, baked beans, potato salad and mountain-high chocolate cake, Dr. Paul took the stage and delivered his thanks for the votes that have repeatedly returned him to Congress with a mandate to uphold the Constitution, oppose big government and defend Liberty. With his trademark humility and uncommon good sense, Dr. Paul spoke of constitutional prescriptions for the many issues facing not only Texas, but the nation as a whole.

Dr. and Mrs. Paul then met personally with his many constituents, who came forward with questions, autograph and photograph requests, and words of encouragement. It was indeed a Happy Birthday BBQ for Dr. Paul.

Happy Birthday Congressman!

Now that the pleasantries are out of the way, I’ll be happy next year when there aren’t any reminders of his brithday.

Because he will be relegated to the dustbin of political insignificance, even here on FR.

Have two pieces of cake, Doctor! Enjoy.

Giuliani is a poser. There is nothing but his cheap words to indicate he'd do anything more against terrorism than anyone else.

Duncan Hunter is a military hero, one of like two or three congressmen with a son or daughter in Iraq, former chairman of the armed services committee and he represents one of the largest military districts in the country. And yet the Rudymites claim they KNOW Giuliani is better than all other nine republicans on terror. Bullcrap!

You go from supporting Guiliani to supporting Paul? Something smells really fishy here.

No, it just means that you guys will whine like stuck pigs because his supporters won't hold their noses for the RINO nominee.

Why are you getting into a pissing contest with your fellow conservatives over the Lyndon Laroche candidate? You should know better than to think that we haven't done our homework on this guy.

I never heard of him until the first couple of debates. I came to the conclusion that the Republicans had Ron Paul for giggles since the 'Rats have Mike Gravel.

You are far too sensitive over this fruit.

BTW, I haven't chosen who I will support until the primary gets closer. So don't assume that I am a Guiliani supporter. But if I were, I would be open to discussion about it without calling people names.

You don't know anything about Paul, other than what's been regurgitated through the MSM/GOP establishment grapevine.

I like Paul because he'll end the socialism that's about to turn the U.S. into a 3rd world dumpster. Meanwhile, all of the other GOP candidates are fighting to see who'll expand the government faster. I like Paul because he'll secure the borders and end citizenship for anchor babies. I like Paul because he believes Middle Eastern terrorists should kill each other in their fecal swamp instead of our soldiers.

Dr. Paul would rather see the terrorists stew in their own juices in the Middle East while kicking them out of this country (which Bush hasn't done) and securing the borders (which Bush hasn't done).

Yes, stewing in their own juices just like they did on September 11th, 2001. And darn it, you're so right about how Bush has failed to kick all these people out of the country. That must be why we've had ten major Al Qaida attacks on our soil in the last five years and 11 months...oh wait, that hasn't happened.

I'll bet you dollars to donuts he'd fight a real war, if God forbid we were attacked assuming he's POTUS, without worrying what the "international community" thinks of America.

We are fighting a real war. The surge is working so well that even Dick Durbin is running for the tall grass, but Paul still wants to throw it all away and run out of there like a scalded dog. A person who is so inept couldn't possibly be qualified to be CiC, much less be expected to "fight a real war."

So your post #25 is nothing more than speculation as Paul doesn't really have an official policy on Islamic terrorism.

His current policy is to run home and let Iran run the place. That in itself makes him about as qualified to handle the Middle East as Paris Hilton.

If you actually did see such a commercial, no tax dollars from any current earmark request went into it.

Aw...that's so cute that you think you can impugn my integrity like that! Nice try.

I didn't say the current earmark request paid for it, I said Ron Paul must be proud that it's on.

Please be sure to let me know if you find any stuff in Reagan’s memoirs about what we should do when...

...the conflict is one we chose for good reason, a loss in which will be seen as a strategic defeat by all our enemies and friends.

...the enemy we’re facing is Al Qaida (or another group that will stage attacks on us from their newly won territory).

...we are winning in such spectacular fashion that even Dick Durbin and Carl Levin acknowledge we’re kicking massive butt.

Somehow, I’m pretty sure Ronnie would say “We win. They lose.” And I’m pretty sure, given his condemnation of abandoning the Vietnamese that he put forth in a speech to the VFW on 18 August 1980, he would have little regard for Dr. Paul’s cut and run horse hockey.

What's really sad is that you can't debate like a grownup.

Paleopipsqueak? What are you, a 1st grader?

Why we have to stay on top of the PaulMaulers:

* They have the 20% Libertarian vote locked in
* They think they have 10-15% of the rat vote
* They cannot afford to lose any R voters who might come back around when the surge shows success next week- 10%.

They'll work overtime to keep the wavering Rs, giving them a theoretical 40-45%..

Same connection i have with a Brett Favre to Donald Driver touch down pass: I support it and I’m very proud. The difference between me and Ron Paul is that I don’t claim to be a Bear fan.

“Tell me again how many terror attacks have there been in the U.S. since 9/11.”

At least 18. But you’ve been told it’s not terror related.
