- There were plenty of red faces at Villanova University over the weekend. That's because of a lot of blue language by a comic at a school welcome event. The comedy show was part of freshman orientation held last Friday night, but the comedian hired by the orientation committee of staff and students got the hook 15 minutes into his hour and a half show. Los Angeles-based comedian Steve Trevino is billed as one of the countries up and coming comics, but when he took the stage at the Pavilion, incoming Villanova freshman and staff weren't laughing for very long.
"At some point, it was just too offensive. I didn't like what he was saying at all, especially the racial jokes," said Jessona McDonald.
McDonald is one of many students who walked out during the barrage of bad language, including the n-word and racist and sexist humor

Is he black or white? If he’s black, he’ll get a pass. If he’s white, he needs to submit to “sensitivity training” by the thought police.
It’s amazing to me how comedy has evolved into filth mouth, attacks on others and no talent. Anyone can get up there and speak this trash mouth and laugh at others. A real comic would write his material and make it funny while keeping it clean. There’s no excuse for this kind of garbage they so wrongly refer to as “talent.”
And is the ABC copy editor taking a holiday, or is Cathy Gandolfo a functional illiterate?

These journalists can’t even put together a grammatically correct sentence. Should be “country’s” of course.

"But boss, the spell-checker said it was OK!"
"We have a contract and we say we are a Catholic university. We have standards that we want met. Even when he was here that day, we talked about having a PG-13 show. So, we really did the things that we normally do. It was very upsetting. He was very offensive," said Kathy Byrnes, and assistant vice president of student life.Sounds like the school did the right thing to me. His "blue" performance was in essence a breach of contract.
Fat, white trash.
What was he thinking if he said that word?
How does spell checker know.
Chris Rock will happily be taking over his time slot next week.
I'm so glad we've gone beyond racism in this country. MLK would be so proud of us for judging on the color of skin instead of the content of character.
“I guess they were “too sensitive.” All that brainwashing to make our kids good liberals. THAT’S the real crime. “
Maybe I’m misintepreting your comment, but it sounds like to me you think these kids are too sensitive. Does that mean “good” conservatives would be happy to listen to sexist, racist, profanity filled “jokes?” Count me out.

Maybe he is wildly popular in Mexico and Canada too
A “tolerance troupe” came to a local high school and used the “N” word on stage last year.
Some of the students were angered by it but I interpreted it as an attempt to make people “sensitive” and angry to perpetuate racial conflict and justify liberalism.
Banning the “N” word is a 21st Century version of prohibition. Its utterly legalistic and definitely humanistic.
The Pharisees and Saducees of higher education in “all their glory.”
If only society would invent some position for a person who would look at the content of the articles and screen them for such mistakes. How tragic that newspapers and magazines around the globe have to suffer for decade upon decade because this job title has never been invented.
*sigh*
(It must be the fault of white racists.)
He was performing for a Catholic University. While he should have adjusted his material for his audience, the University should be held somewhat responsible for not doing better research on this guy’s material.
Some people need to get a life. I hear worse language on a public bus every day.
That’s not the only double standard-some black comedians regularly make offensive jokes about whites, and the stupid whites sit there and dutifully laugh. Either we should all be so offended, or none of us should be. One way or the other.
