My wife was flying between 2 cities in the midwest this week and noticed that the arabic man next to her was texting the entire time of the flight.
It is my opinion that the guy was testing the limits of cell-phone texting capability during flight. Perhaps a dry-run for another coordinated attack. I urged her to call DHS and let them know what she saw.
Anybody else witness this kind of behavior?
I thought cellphones were supposed to be off during flights? Where were the flight attendants?
That is complete nonsense. Every 9-11 Truther will tell you that cell phone signals can't reach the ground from a jetliner.
Just out of curiosity does your wife usually do what you “urge” her to do? Did she in this case? If she did she has performed a great service to our country, I thank her. If she has *not* then perhaps you could move to the next level with her, say from “strongly request” to “urge” to “insist”. If that doesn’t work you may need to go to “command” “order” or “force”.
Thanks!
I've never gotten one to work at 10kft.
I was on a flight back from Denver and a woman turned her cell phone on about 10 minutes prior to landing. You have to remember, some phones have games on them.
I left my cell on, by accident, from a flight from Charlotte to IAD.
There was this guy on flight from Taipei to San fran, I was worried about one guy until he pulled out his laptop and started to watch Nickelback videos and drinking diet coke.
games?
We recently left on a flight out of Orange County, CA. (Final destination Baltimore) I was joking with my spouse about getting on a flight with terrorist looking men. Well, low and behold as we were sitting in the waiting area to board. What comes and sits, opposite us, but exactly that. He spent a good 20 minutes on his cell phone and looking around constantly. He was speaking in another language but I got suspicious when I heard him say Pakistan. So I got my cell phone out and took his photo. My spouse and I decided to board with him but I checked his seat. The very last row and sitting in between two strapping college boys. So I felt ok. But who knows . You can’t go anywhere blindly.
Yeah, well one person calling probably won’t hit the radar.
I posted this to make other freepers aware of what she saw so you could watch for similar behavior.
If more people are aware and DHS gets multiple calls like hers, then we might be able to nail some of these guys before they do something.
I like how they’re called troofers
Terrorists probably won’t use airliners anymore, the locked and forteified cabin doors will keep them out of the cockpit. There are much juicier targets like nuclear reactors, water supplies, etc.
Let’s not get hysterical and take out attention away from the cherry targets.
Tha might not stop them from attempting to undermine the air travel industry in general.
Er, why didn’t your wife report the man, clearly with his phone on (not allowed) to a flight attendant at the time rather than wait for the “after the fact” incident report.
I’d say that it is very unlikely to be nefarious behavior.
But I also think you have a duty to report suspicious behavior.
True. While disrupting commerce may be one of their goals, I don’t think it is their primary objective.
I will cut *your* freakin head off, maggot!
However, nothing on his list comes anywhere near engaging the enemy up-close-and-personal during exigent circumstances.
John "Doe" is aptly named and fits to a "T" the well-earned stereotype of the typical American.........
