MSNBC's Tamron Hall: I've Participated in Events for NOW
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 08/28/2007 3:56:51 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Last week Hall disclosed here that, beyond "Us Weekly," her main news source is the New York Times. Two days earlier, Hall had defended CNN's "God's Warriors" by suggesting that Christian and Jewish groups could be the next to turn violent. Today comes further evidence of Hall's liberal leanings. The MSNBC newsperson has spoken openly of her participation in events on behalf of the National Organization for Women.

The admission arose on today's "Morning Joe" at 6:09 A.M. EDT. Host Joe Scarborough, discussing the Michael Vick case, suggested that whereas there has been tremendous media focus on the dogfighting charges, allegations that pro athletes abuse women don't get as much attention.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: The next time an NFL player beats the hell out of a woman, or allegedly rapes a woman, or an NBA player allegedly rapes a woman, or beats the hell out of a woman, I want to see all those people who were out there defending these dogs doing the same thing for these women, who were abused.
That's when Hall made her statement.
TAMRON HALL: I think people agree with you, and I've heard that time and time again. It's not to diminish what Michael Vick has done. He stood up in front of the cameras, with his mother, embarrassed and humiliated, and took responsibility. But I am curious. As a woman, as a person who has participated in events for the National Organization for Women, as a woman who has participated in charity events for the education of abuse victims, I want to see what happens the next time a guy socks his girlfriend.

Earlier, Tamron had shared the sad and shocking fact that her own sister had been murdered, the sister's boyfriend having been charged with the crime. It is understandable and admirable that Hall would want to work on issues of domestic abuse. That she chose NOW as the outlet for her good works is, nevertheless, indicative of her political orientation.

Dog fighting and wife/girlfriend beatings, who knew there was a correlation.

So where was she when OJ killed his wife? And I hate it when people dismiss cruelty, especially gross cruelty, to animals (and no, hunting isn’t cruelty)-it’s indicative of a depraved mentality. That’s why it’s been shown to be an indicator of the potential to be a serial killer.

She was speaking to Joe, so he was obviously there. Why didn't he say, "the next time there is an honor-killing or a woman is killed or beaten for having exposed some ankle, I want to see the NOW gang out there protesting Islam"?

So where was she when OJ killed his wife?

She was a general assignment reporter in Texas. As best as I can tell, that year she was either at KTVT in Dallas or, where she began her career, KBTX in Bryan.

I don't see your point.

At a dogfight?

I'm sure she'd agree that jail-time would be... excessive.

She supports NOW, NOW has been silent on women's issues when it hurt the left (Clinton). She said that she wants to see what happens the next time that a guy socks his girlfriend. My answer is, it'll depend on what guy is abusing what woman. NOW is not an equal-opportunity defender of women.

never cared for her work

she was the reason Chicago’s “fox thing in the morning” was painfull to watch

unfortunately she has been replaced with another babe with a speech impediment

It was interesting how her dialect could change, depending on the race of her guest

this is how it works ... a cute woman gets hired for regional morning zoo type of fluff.

if they hit the national big time, they will pander to the least common majority activist

end result: I don’t watch msnbc either

Personally I don’t care what a reporter’s views are, I just want a fair and unbiased report of the facts. Since that is almost impossible these days, I generally don’t bother watching MSM progaganda.

Yep. Just like almost every black talking head I have seen on TV and the moron who wrote a letter to the editor bemoaning “double standards” as related to the Vick case. He naturally invoked Iraq and Katrina in his racist diatribe and called for Bush’s prosecution.

That’s right, a man confessed to a crime and should be released because he is black. The president committed no crime and should be prosecuted. No double standard there.

Scarborough and Vick both deserve to have their busts enshrined in the Stupid Hall of Fame.

LOL... he apologized to Jesus... and his mom. If OJ did that today, he’d be turning down job offers from the networks within a month.

She’s on CNN, you know that network formerly owned by that antiChristian bigot who used to openly mock and ridicule Catholic staffers who came to work with Ash Wednesday ashes on their forheads in the sign of a cross?

It is a no brainer that there are bigoted and biased libs at CNN.

Why didn’t “indignant Joe” press MS. Hall on here whereabouts and the wherabouts of NOW when Slick Willie was being accused of rape? I mean afterall there are few people with a higher profile than POTUS and I don’t seem to remember too many people being upset about it.

Just in time for the Fourth of July, John Lott, author of the groundbreaking 1998 book More Guns, Less Crime, has released another amazing book: Freedomnomics: Why the Free Market Works and Other Half-Baked Theories Don't. This book provides studies and analysis proving that your every right-wing instinct is based on sound economic analysis.

To wit:

-- Women shouldn't vote: "What changed ... that explains the growth of government? The answer is women's suffrage."

-- Fox News Channel isn't conservative: "Even employees of Fox News, which is widely regarded as a conservative channel, donate 81 percent of their contributions to Democrats."

-- Public schools are government re-education camps: "(P)ublic education was actually designed to spread government-approved values."

-- Nothing good has come from abortion: "(A)bortion, in fact, increases crime."

-- Felons vote Democrat: "Remarkably, it looks as if virtually all felons are Democrats."

Studies Show: Felons Smarter Than Liberals - HUMAN EVENTS
As John Lott has demonstrated, even Fox News is heavily Democrat. And Murdoch is supporting Hitlery with big checks.

So someone at MSNBC being a NOW gal is hardly a big surprise.
