The democrats are already VERY worried about Fred Thompson, with attack press releases several times a week. Why would that be if he is: "lazy, has no fire in the belly, is sick, can't keep staffers, has a trophy wife and can't make up his mind whether to run?"

Thompson is using a loophole in the law to avoid the scrutiny that comes with becoming an official candidate for the GOP nomination.

They are bitching about this while Hillary does any damn thing she pleases to get money? Chris Dodd putting the arm on bankers for contributions while he is the senate banking chairman? This is laughable.

Paid for and authorized by the Democratic National Committee, http://www.democrats.org.

And we are more than happy to run it as an information piece.

Does anyone read the "Examiner"?

“...at the very least, he has violated the spirit, if not the actual letter, of the law.”

You mean like a couple who have already served 2 terms as co-presidents, who are trying for another 4 or 8 years despite constitutional amendment designed to limit the number of terms a president can serve?

Romulans here to defend Fred against the baby-abortin’, gun-grabbin’, homo-marriage-lovin DNC in 3,2,1,...Oh, that’s right, they have ncthing to say because their candidate supports the same things. Never mind.

FRed can’t be violating the law.

He’s a District Attorney.

(At least he plays one on television.)

Just because every other candidate announced ridiculously early does ot mean Fred Thompson is violating the law. In any other Presidential election year, Fred Thompson's timeline would be unremarkable. He will announce just after Labor Day, when the voters are paying attention again.

Hillary! moved up her announcement to a very early date, because she has all the money in the World and because she knows that public opinion, positive and negative, is pretty much fixed for her. Her strategy is to spend her opponents into the ground and to allow enough time to pass for negatives to build on her opponents just as they have on her. It is a good strategy, and all the other candidate allowed themselves to be buffaloed into declaring early as well. All but Fred Thompson, of course.

It is a measure of how far the Round-Heeled Media is in the tank for Hillary! that nobody is pointing out that the Labor Day before the election year is the typical time to announce. Everybody is just pretending that this advanced timetable and the ever earlier primaries (NH is in October, I think!) are all designed to aid Hillary!.

The fact that Fred Thompson would not be buffaloed just makes me support him more.

Watch what they do, not what they say. If they were as unbothered by his potential candidacy as they claim to be they would just ignore him. Whistling past the graveyard, pure and simple!

Dear DNC:

I watched for eight years as Bill Clinton did more than "skirt the law" (or even "law the skirt.") I watched him tapdance around, through, beside, and under it, and all the time, you people sniggered at how clever he was, how brilliant his mind worked to narrowly avoid the letter of the law and still get away with murder. (Possibly.) So don't get all "Great Aunt Agnes" on me when a Republican does nothing wrong. Your credibility is shot.

I think the DNC could have 'elected' a better word than skirt and law for their headline.

Just remember... NONE OF THIS IS NEW! The left attacked Reagan in the exact same way, with the exact same claims, made by many of the exact same leftist players. History repeats itself... and that is why dims are scared to death!

I thought you were just being sarcastic by listing the author of this story as ‘DNC STAFF’.

But I looked at the link, and sure enough, the DNC is writing news stories for the drive-by-media!

They aren’t even trying to pretend their objective anymore!

Unbelievable !!!

“ABC News’ Conservative Commentator/Legal Expert Jennifer Rubin: Thompson “Well Beyond” Legal Limits. “Thompson appears to have gone well beyond the limits imposed by federal law.” [ABCNews.com, 7/16/07 (http://abcnews.go.com/print?id=3379643)] “

Oh Goodie, The ABC “Conservative Commentator/Legal Expert Jennifer Rubin” weighs in.

Anyone with a functioning brain knows that at ABC, “Conservative” when used as a term to describe one of “Their” commentators, means someone that thinks a communist system of government should be phased in, rather than all at once.

Today his communications director, Linda Rozett, is the third campaign staffer to resign from Thompson's "testing the waters" campaign in the last month.

Actually it was Lacy who is "making tough decisions that are necessary" and asked Rozett to step down.

Just the first lie on this steamin' pile of them from Screamin' Howie Dean.
