HuffPo Calls For Military Coup In USA
Captain's Quarters ^ | August 25, 2007 | Ed Morrissey

The Huffington Post published a plea to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs today to arrest George Bush for "conduct unbecoming" -- essentially, a military coup against the elected government of the United States. Martin Lewis claims that the military can arrest a President while not conducting a coup d'etat by focusing only on his role as Commander in Chief of the military:

General Pace - you have the power to fulfill your responsibility to protect the troops under your command. Indeed you have an obligation to do so.

You can relieve the President of his command.

Not of his Presidency. But of his military role as Commander-In-Chief. ...

In addition to relieving him of his command as Commander-In-Chief, you also have authority to place the President under MILITARY arrest.

Lewis quotes extensively from the Uniform Code of Military Justice, but clearly his scholarship does not extend to the Constitution.

Other than the fact that Mz. Huffington has a cute accent and an ex who was a fudgepacker, why does anyone care what she thinks?

They’ve been talking about some moonbat scheme of “simultaneous impeachment” for quite a while.

I keep wondering when they’ll grow up instead of just getting older.

The editors themselves can be arrested for treason for this article. It’s something Nifong could do in his spare time (since he doesn’t have a job & all that).

The cretin who wrote the original piece is taking the path one would have predicted : He's saying it's satire, and we're just too dumb to recognize it.

Although this guy is clearly a kook if he believes that the military would be inclined to arrest the POTUS to which they have sworn an oath to obey, rather than picking up this author and simply shooting him in the head, why is he still walking free?

How is calling for a military coup not sedition?

“You can relieve the President of his command.”

*****

If anyone should have been relieved as commander in chief, it should have been President Stainedbluedress.

Funny how no one ever called for that occurrence.

Wow! These people have really gone of the deep end. Now they want the military they despise and hate to arrest the Commander and Chief.

Shaking my head at their utter stupidity.

Thanks....from the Hot Air Blog:

HuffPo genius who called for coup: It was satire, wingnuts

Uh huh. It’s the first satire in history with no discernible target. Here’s a sample of something he left in the comments to the original post that showcases his rip-roaring brand of fun-pokin’ hijinks:

sEE THE LINK......

Exit question: Did he come up with this pathetic defense himself or did an embarrassed Arianna force it on him?

Sedition pure and simple and should be prosecuted as such.
