The August 20, 2007 Washington Times National Weekly Edition had a short article in Bill Gertzs Inside the Ring section on page 16 which is vitally important. However, it was ignored by the national media.
The article states that the senior Air Force commander [General Paul Hester] in the Pacific last week threw cold water on a Chinese proposal to divide up the Pacific Ocean into US and Chinese spheres of influence. The Chinese proposal would have yielded the eastern Pacific Region to the USA while allowing China dominance in the western Pacific. General Hester stated that our policy is not to cede space to anyone. This proposal was apparently also made to the commander of the US Navys Pacific Fleet, Admiral Tom Keating, during a recent visit to China.

“China Offers to “Splilt the Pacific Ocean” with the USA”
OK lets split it so the US takes the eastern and western coasts and the Chinese can take the big watery bit in the middle.

Lets divide the ocean up in proportion to functioning aircraft carriers that each country can deploy.

Yep, that MFN trading status for the reds was a great idea. They’ll be back demanding even more very soon.

I suspect Japan, South Korea, the ROC and the Philippines would have at least as much objection to the proposal as we should.
(Of course, if Japan were in the process of remilitarizing on friendly terms with the US, we could, er, ‘agree’ to the proposal. . wink, wink.)

What is it with these commie morons. First the Soviets claim the Artic and now the Chinese want the oceans.
These clowns need a lesson in manners.

Er...I mean that the Japanese would have something to say about China's proposal to divide the Pacific, with Japan lying squarely in China's proposed sphere of influence.
Time to rebuild the Kaga, Akagi, Hiryu, Soryu, Zuikaku, etc...
To: theBuckwheat; Jeff Head
Ping.
Thought this would interest you.
To: theBuckwheat
Do the people who live in the ‘Chinese’ half of the ocean want to be in China’s sphere of influence?
