A top adviser for Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) said Friday that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.), the front-runner for her partys presidential nomination, is obsessed with what she calls the Republican attack machine.
I think we need a candidate who is obsessed with unifying this country again, said Obama adviser David Axelrod. He added that Obama could break the sort of decades-long battle weve had over this jagged divide red state, blue state, American against American and try to bring people together and attract disaffected Republicans and attract independent voters so that we could build not just a victory, but a governing coalition in this country.
Axelrod also took a swipe at former Sen. John Edwards (N.C.), who is third among Democratic presidential candidates in national polls. Edwards, the partys vice presidential nominee in 2004, said this week that the country needs more than rhetoric about change in what was viewed as a jab at Obama.
Axelrod, prompted by a question during an MSNBC interview, said that Edwardss attack on Obama and Clinton could be a sign of desperation.
Responding to reports this week that Michelle Obama had attacked the Clintons marriage, Axelrod only said that the story was nonsense.
This was not about Hillary Clinton, Axelrod said about Michelle Obamas remarks.
At a campaign stop, she had stated that if one cant run his or her own house then one also cannot run the White House. This was perceived by some as a commentary on the Clintons marital woes.
I know for a fact that she really admires I mean, the Clintons raised a splendid daughter, Axelrod said. And Michelle, I think, is very admiring of Hillary for that. So this was not an attack.
Here’s a suggested slogan for Osamabama:
“I’m a uniter, not a divider.”
re: Shrillery’s obsession with “GOP attack machine” and the “vast right-wing conspiracy”
There are 3 factors here:
1) Shrillery knows how vicious and ruthless her own attack machine is, so she is constantly “projecting”
2) Shrillery knows how much dirty laundry she, Bill, and all of the Clintonistas carry around, so she has plenty to be obsessed about, knowing that the Clintonistas have provided so much ammo to their detractors
3) Shrillery is trying to pre-empt and discredit ALL forms of criticism, even though (or especially because) she has richly earned such criticism due to 1) and 2) above
I only want reconciliation, peace, and brotherly love, unlike my devilish enemies.
Yeah. It’s not that she’s a criminal scumbag with a stack of skeletons so deep that she’s had to build special vault closets to keep them in. Nope. It’s just those pesky Republicans trying to make her look bad.
The only time words of truth come out of this hags mouth is on accident.
Obama’s campaign has all the info on Paul v Clinton. He doesn’t have the huevos to use it.
The only thing worse than Hillary is Obama and the only thing worse than Obama is Edwards and the only thing worse than Edwards is Hillary.
attack machine? it’s her own bloody MSM.
At this point I am first and foremost concerned that we maintain our firewall (ie., 41 Senators who can stop the socialist scumbags dead in their tracks).
I know. So sad. The only one worse than each of them is all the rest of them.
Maybe the wrong Obama is running for the presidency. What we need from the democrats is a truthful candidate.
Not Clinton, the ‘ole’ gray mare, (who wants the American people to pay for making her life a Hell while she was first lady, eg. national health care) but someone who is not afraid of saying his/her mind.
Mrs. Obama sounds like she could give the ‘ole’ gray mare a run for her money. At least Mrs. Obama speaks truthfully.
Once anyway.
“Unlike my esteem opponent, I no going stoop down to throw the mud, even though I know the buggah been cockaroach around the legislature...”
