Ron Paul supporters urged to attend MoveOn.org Rally !
RonPaul MeetUp Group ^ | 26 August 2007 | David Osborne

Posted on 08/26/2007 10:44:41 AM PDT by davidosborne

Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....

http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3421862

I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org

.... quote from an active Ron Paul supporter

Somebody posted a thread concerning moveon, and letting their members know about Ron Paul. As a member of moveon.org, I received today an invitation to create an anti-war rally on August 28th. They will be doing rallies all across the nation on that day. We should invade this event. During the rally, bring anti-war stickers, signs, and flags -- and also Ron Paul signs. Introduce moveon members to Ron Paul, the REAL anti-war candidate! Anti-war people will ask about Ron Paul and be introduced to him on that day. Don't be rude, just gently introduce people to the peace candidate. Moveon.org is well cordinated, so if enough of our people show up at their rallies, we might be able to convert a huge number of people.

I have already created a moveon.org anti-war rally, on the 28th at 7pm, right outisde of the West Covina Mall. Please, everybody who can in this group, COME. It's on the corner of Vincent and Plaza Drive in West Covina.

Pssst! GWB, don't waste your time with what's her face.

Aw c'mon, Dad, you know this is our first chance to break the 1,000 post barrier on a Ron Paul thread! And in only one day too.

Why do you think this thread which was such Breaking News had to be removed from Breaking? Like, before it garnered more posts in a single day than every political thread on FR?

LOL.

Not a knee-jerk statement. I have followed the thread. The first test of leadership is whether a candidate can control his own campaign and supporters. If he can’t do that, he’s not fit to run a Congressional District, much less the whole nation.

Bashing the conservative candidate who has supported the Constitution the most on the very website dedicated to defending it.

You guys are nothing more than bottom-feeders trying to work your way up to pond scum.

The first test of leadership is whether a candidate can control his own campaign and supporters.

Paul has thousands of enthusiastic supporters volunteering on his behalf. He simply has no way of knowing who's doing what or what type of supporters he's drawing. Now obviously he's going to attract some oddballs because of his message, which most folks find unprecedented, considering the usual spoon-fed crap they're used to hearing. I'm sure his official campaign acknowledges this, and if you ever seen his rallies you are seeing ordinary, decent folks and not the kook fringe portrayed by the MSM and Paul bashers.

If he can’t do that, he’s not fit to run a Congressional District, much less the whole nation.

His election to 10 terms in Congress & network of donors garnered from his previous Libertarian run for President in 1988 refutes your premise.

Hunter must be doing something right...alot of Paulites on this thread with their panties in a twist over Hunter.

We know what LIEberals (and LIEbertarian RINOs) mean when they claim to "support the troops, but not the mission"....

"Anti-War" moonbats are perfectly clear when they say they "support the war on terrorism"...just not in Iraq:

The American people DO NOT support a long-term committment in Iraq. THEY DO NOT - I don't care how you spin or call it "cutting and running"...

I doubt you can convince them. Many of these are the same ones who posted all those "Rove you magnificent bastard" graphics in 2006 which suddenly disappeared on election day in 2006. They screamed bloody murder over any suggestion that Rumsfeld was a failed SecDef until Bush stuck the knife in Rummy on TV the day after Bush/Rove/Rumsfeld cost us our congressional majority. These are the same howlers who were defending Brownie/FEMA to the death. And they acted like Aunt Harriet was their mother when we threw her under the bus so we could get Alito instead.

The Harpies are gone now. But some of their royalist sycophants remain, holding court.

They have such a fixation upon the person of W. that I truly fear for their emotional state come 2009. Especially if the big-government Rockefeller Republicans that they follow so blindly end up handing Hitlery an easy victory instead of embracing the pro-liberty/small-government agenda of the Reagan/Gingrich eras.

The photo was taken at a RON PAUL rally.

Yeah, yeah sure. It was probably taken in your front yard.

What in the world are you talking about? Are you, like the Paulistinean I was talking with last night, using drugs? He admitted it. Are you?

They see their sacred cows are going to be gored under Ron Paul too. I expect that most of these FReepers work in some capacity in the federal government or hypocritically enjoy the benefits of the very socialist programs they rail against.

I'm not sure why you want to pick a fight. Many of us have said repeatedly that we could easily support Duncan if RP doesn't make it. Nor do we expect any reciprocity from you guys who like to troll on our threads. And we don't use some of the info on Duncan that we could use on Duncan threads if we chose to.

RP supporters generally like Duncan in my experience. Also Tancredo. And Fred. Heck, I even like Mitt and Tommy Thompson.

We know what LIEberals (and LIEbertarian RINOs) mean when they claim to "support the troops, but not the mission"....

And do you "support the troops" enough to respect them when they choose to support Ron Paul publicly like Sgt. Kyle Sanders in this video? Or do you only "support the troops" when they happen to agree with your own opinions? And, did you serve yourself or are you just a self-appointed civilian spokesmodel for the opinions of "the troops"?

Ron Paul can’t even personally disassociate himself from the cranks and weirdos he attracts. In fact, he cannot even denouce al Qaeda. Instead, like some ideological madman, he blames America for not following his ideas on foreign policy as being cause of al Qaeda’s attacks. Meanwhile, al Qaeda attacks nearly every nation in the world for a thousand reason, and Ron Paul’s cult followers see no problem. Amazing.

Notice the signs...Ron Paul uses the same talking points:

“Immoral, Illegal, and not in our interest”

Ron Paul supporters have more in common with CODE PINK than any conservative.

They’re basically fellow travelers with Code Pink, but not manly enough to admit it.

Obviously, many of them are government parasites of some kind or they have family members who are. Just as we saw during the open-borders threads here where some of the open-borders crowd was admitting that they employed illegals to undercut wages of our citizens and many other despicable motives for employing illegals.

Thanks for that video clip. I noticed that most of Paul supporters are donating $17.76. How appropriate!
