Ron Paul supporters urged to attend MoveOn.org Rally !
RonPaul MeetUp Group ^ | 26 August 2007 | David Osborne

Posted on 08/26/2007 10:44:41 AM PDT by davidosborne

Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....

http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3421862

I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org

.... quote from an active Ron Paul supporter

Somebody posted a thread concerning moveon, and letting their members know about Ron Paul. As a member of moveon.org, I received today an invitation to create an anti-war rally on August 28th. They will be doing rallies all across the nation on that day. We should invade this event. During the rally, bring anti-war stickers, signs, and flags -- and also Ron Paul signs. Introduce moveon members to Ron Paul, the REAL anti-war candidate! Anti-war people will ask about Ron Paul and be introduced to him on that day. Don't be rude, just gently introduce people to the peace candidate. Moveon.org is well cordinated, so if enough of our people show up at their rallies, we might be able to convert a huge number of people.

I have already created a moveon.org anti-war rally, on the 28th at 7pm, right outisde of the West Covina Mall. Please, everybody who can in this group, COME. It's on the corner of Vincent and Plaza Drive in West Covina.

Master of the obvious, I am.

Master of BS is more like it.

Unless you can support your claim, don’t respond.

Petronski: abcdefg, a paleoPaulie supporter, wants to see the Wylers. IIRC, you can show abcdefg the Wylers.

Well, errrr....it was kind of on here earlier, I believe, eh, Petro? ;-)

Thanks for your clear thoughts and words.
With your first hand knowledge what is going on in Iraq,
you can put away the Paulites warped views.

Keep your head low, as they say! God Bless you and keep you safe.

As for all those here who don’t realize what an important election this is, I would say, at times like this, if I were undecided as to who to vote for I would be looking to folks like you and davidosborne for opinions since you are some of those who know better than most and have the most right to say so.

Even if I were totally decided, I would still listen to military personnel openly.

You know the funny thing is, true Ron Paul supporters would be apologetic that polictical operatives from the opposing party are using him to drive a wedge, and most people would understand. It's politics, after all.

But when someone such as yourself gets indignant that the above happens, it can only mean two things, 1. you are a DNC operative or some other trouble-maker, or 2. you are completely unaware of how things work.

Remove me from your ping list David.

I never expected such a dishonest post would come from you. I can put any word and a candidates name in the google search engine and find some obscure reference that I could use to denigrate that candidate.

Do Ron Paul supporters support military nation building police actions in remote parts of the world? No, most do not. We are now in the process in Iraq of building up a country that has adopted Sharia Law and the Koran as it's foundational basis in law. One that has close ties to Shia Iran, thus Hezbolluh. If Islamists are our fundemental enemy then what we are doing is unconscionable. We have stupidly created a super Shia Islamic alliance between Iran Iraq and Syria in the heart of the ME.

We have neglected our primary mission in Afghanistan to capture or kill those responsible for 9/11. The resurgence of Afgani heroin imports are once again flooding Europe. The Taliban had stopped this flow of drugs to the rest of the world. Our lack of resolve there has destabilized Pakistan and put the possibility of a nuclear armed Islamic theocracy closer to reality then anything happening in Iraq or even Iran. We have ignored the complicity of Saudia Arabia in financing the terrorists who perpetrated 9/11 and see on our television George Bush holding hands and strolling in the garden with one of the major backers of Wahhabism in the world. Our other "axis of evil" participant, Korea, is given the Carter treatment by this administration. Our open borders are an open invitation to terrorists and other criminals who wish us harm. So the question should not be why Paul supporters do not support this administrations foreign policies, but why 29% of the American people still do.

This is a lie. I have been to two separate Straw Polls here in New Hampshire and haven’t heard a single thing about 9-11 or Israel.

This claim is without any basis in fact.

BTTT

I'm guessing that part of that 29% is either profiting from the war or (sadly) has a family member there.

This thread is about Ron Paul. #267 was a comment about Ron Paul.

How is that changing the subject? And yes, I have read the entire thread.

And yes, I have read the entire thread.

That’s because half the Ron Paul supporters on FR belong to MoveOn, and just post here to stir up trouble.

Really?

Prove it.

That is the original claim and the original response. understand?

Is ANYONE surprised? Most of Paul's supporters are members in good standing of Moveon.org. Wackjobs for the wackjob, you know? He's attracting them like a steaming pile of bovine climate changing substance attreacts flies.

The REALLY SAD thing about Paul is that he doesn't have the grace of being REMOTELY humorous as a candidate. I've been doing politics since President Reagan, the '08 election cycle is only JUST officially starting and I'm already bored outta my SKULL!

GORE/DEAN '08!!

Maybe Ron Paul’s next speech will be about his support of the “9/11 was an inside job” movement

Playing in the gutter eh? Perhaps you need to write to the Kucinich supporters and argue with them. They reject Ron Paul precisely because Paul doesn't (contrary to yoru claim) support 9-11 conspiracy theories.

Now...now that we have the smears out of the way, if you want to have a fact-based discussion, I'm game.

His supporters seem to be largely devoid of a sense of humor as well...

...but they are humorous. ;-)
