Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....
http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3421862
I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org
.... quote from an active Ron Paul supporter
Somebody posted a thread concerning moveon, and letting their members know about Ron Paul. As a member of moveon.org, I received today an invitation to create an anti-war rally on August 28th. They will be doing rallies all across the nation on that day. We should invade this event. During the rally, bring anti-war stickers, signs, and flags -- and also Ron Paul signs. Introduce moveon members to Ron Paul, the REAL anti-war candidate! Anti-war people will ask about Ron Paul and be introduced to him on that day. Don't be rude, just gently introduce people to the peace candidate. Moveon.org is well cordinated, so if enough of our people show up at their rallies, we might be able to convert a huge number of people.
I have already created a moveon.org anti-war rally, on the 28th at 7pm, right outisde of the West Covina Mall. Please, everybody who can in this group, COME. It's on the corner of Vincent and Plaza Drive in West Covina.

Like hell you didn't. His liberal record was presented to you time and time again. You defended him on the grounds that he was electable and was a strong supporter of the war against the jihadists.
Your tune has changed 180 degrees, practically overnight. You've gone from supporting a big government liberal on the basis of his terror warrior credentials to supporting a radical anti-war libertarian who's been adopted by the radical left as one of their own. I've never seen a genuine conversion in the real world as dramatic as what you're undergone on this forum. And frankly, I don't believe it's real for a second.
BOTH of you, a great big THANK YOU! and pleased STAY SAFE! I pray daily for the safety of all of you over there!
Ron Paul’s words are being used by the anti-war left. I’ve heard libs on talk radio speak about whom they would support. The typical Dems are there, and they add Ron Paul’s name. Obviously, they are lying. They would never vote for him; they are simply using his foolish words to attack.
You know the crowd I was referring to when I wrote “Paul haters”.
LOL I'm not buying it. You're premise is flawed, anyway.
(1) Ron Paul is not anti-war in the same vein as Howard Dean and the left-wing is.
(2) Paul's campaign is supported by a cross-section of regular folks who are tired of politicians lying to them and are attracted to Paul's message.
(3) The anti-war left would be hurt more by a Ron Paul presidency because they would have no issue to exploit, and traditional liberals opposed to the war would support Paul and not the Dim in the general.
Yeah, a lot of his supporters are loony.
No problem.
What will your candidate do to shrink government?
Paul is attracting a lot of young angst driven liberals/libertarians. I think Moveon.org is a great place for them to recruit. Ron Paul is pissing on Reagan’s grave.
I think Paul is a good alternative. Better that the youth vote be split and fragmented than united behind the left.
It isn't a dime bag, but OK.
You're premise is flawed, anyway.
Dont you mean your. In any case, you are lacking in perspective. My premise is sound. Your myopic view prevents you from seeing it's validity. Open a basement window and blow some of that smoke out. It might make it a tad easier to concentrate.
(1) Ron Paul is not anti-war in the same vein as Howard Dean and the left-wing is.
This has nothing to do with the war. It has to do with who comes out and votes and who they vote for. Knock a few fractions of a percent off in the last POTUS battle and bam. We would have had Gore.
(2) Paul's campaign is supported by a cross-section of regular folks who are tired of politicians lying to them and are attracted to Paul's message.
Paul lies. He is no better than the rest of the bottom feeding scum that enter politics. Don't be fooled.
(3) The anti-war left would be hurt more by a Ron Paul presidency because they would have no issue to exploit, and traditional liberals opposed to the war would support Paul and not the Dim in the general.
See number 1. It isn't war. It is shaving a few voters off from whomever the GOP finally puts up.
RP has less than an iceflake's chance in hell. Quit carrying the water for people like Nancy and Harry.
This was before Rudy announced his support for taxpayer funded abortions on CNN and before I learned he spoke to NARAL. As a conservative who leans libertarian, I was willing to give Rudy the benefit of the doubt on social issues but that right there, in addition to some of other Rudy's social stances, sealed the deal for me.
You defended him on the grounds that he was electable and was a strong supporter of the war against the jihadists.
I did, yes. I was taken in by the 9/11 effect and believed Rudy would be the best to fight terrorism, naively. All prior to the GOP debates and before Fred was in the race.
You've gone from supporting a big government liberal on the basis of his terror warrior credentials to supporting a radical anti-war libertarian who's been adopted by the radical left as one of their own
I've always been a fan of Ron Paul. Paul is not an anti-war libertarian. He supports a traditional non-interventionist foreign policy. He has always voted for Reagan's military policies and defense. I support Ron Paul's candidacy because I believe he is rebuilding the old Reagan coalition which will inevitably help Fred Thompson or whoever the GOP nominee is, if Fred's the GOP nominee since most of his views are similar to Paul's. Do I think Paul will win? Probably not, but I'm not going to let a Constitutionalist like Paul get denigrated here on the very website that supposed to defend the Constitution.
Yes, I supported Rudy in the past but realize what a fool I was in doing so. I'm not going to run and hide from it.
I'm a Texas native and I'm familiar with who Ron Paul is. That is why I'm supporting him.
I spent the last 10 years in an insane asylum, and thus I am familiar with Ron Paul. That is why I support him.
(makes as much sense as your articulated reason.)
What will your candidate do to shrink government?
None of them will unless we MAKE them, and that includes your choice.
“You have Ron Paul supporters at straw polls contending that Israel was behind the 9/11 attacks.”
Mein Gott in Himmel.
Are the Ron Paul supporters Truthers?
Your guy is DEAD last in every poll out there, regardless of how you think it's manufactured, If he was taken seriously, even the MSM would give him play. But they don't, know why?
Even the straw poll that really counted to a degree in Iowa, RP was a dismal also ran. Good thing his supporters can cart themselves around the country beating their drums. No one who is looking for a serious candidate is looking at RP.
Get back to the rest of us when RP breaks out of SHARING of 2% with the other also rans.
Face facts, you can't argue with public opinion. And it doesn't favor RP.
I believe you did. What I can't believe is that they would let you out. Or did you escape?
Damn, I was hoping it would be.
Your myopic view prevents you from seeing it's validity.
Try explaining that to the thousands of Paul supporters who feel alienated by the political system and politicians who won't address the real issues.
This has nothing to do with the war. It has to do with who comes out and votes and who they vote for. Knock a few fractions of a percent off in the last POTUS battle and bam. We would have had Gore.
That's the GOP's fault, not Paul, if the GOP loses votes in the general because folks refuse to hold their noses for the same-old same-old. Maybe the GOP should have listened to Paul all these years instead of supporting the Democrat or RINO candidate in Paul's congressional races. Maybe the GOP needs to start following the Constitution more and return to its traditional roots instead of being the Democrat Party lite. Paul wouldn't be running for President for you to worry about then.
Paul lies. He is no better than the rest of the bottom feeding scum that enter politics. Don't be fooled.
Sure he does. He's just swindling folks like some traveling circus group. Yeah, he really supports earmarks and pork. He's really pro-abortion. His being a OB/GYN is just a ruse. Never mind that voting record and statements that put all of it to bed.
Like I said, you are participating in the very kook tactics that you accuse Paul and his supporters of.
See number 1. It isn't war. It is shaving a few voters off from whomever the GOP finally puts up.
Not Paul's problem.
RP has less than an iceflake's chance in hell.
It's not about winning. Paul is creating a movement. The GOP will be stronger and more conservative because of it.
I'm absolutely sure there are some, but I doubt there are any FReepers supporting Ron Paul who are "truthers".
“Ron Paul means well...but has become delusional...’
Man, it sure looks like it. I’m a libertarian, but this is a beclowning.
