Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....
http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3421862
I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org
.... quote from an active Ron Paul supporter
Somebody posted a thread concerning moveon, and letting their members know about Ron Paul. As a member of moveon.org, I received today an invitation to create an anti-war rally on August 28th. They will be doing rallies all across the nation on that day. We should invade this event. During the rally, bring anti-war stickers, signs, and flags -- and also Ron Paul signs. Introduce moveon members to Ron Paul, the REAL anti-war candidate! Anti-war people will ask about Ron Paul and be introduced to him on that day. Don't be rude, just gently introduce people to the peace candidate. Moveon.org is well cordinated, so if enough of our people show up at their rallies, we might be able to convert a huge number of people.
I have already created a moveon.org anti-war rally, on the 28th at 7pm, right outisde of the West Covina Mall. Please, everybody who can in this group, COME. It's on the corner of Vincent and Plaza Drive in West Covina.

Youre the liar. Youre a Libertarian on a Conservative website, pushing a Conservative in Name Only candidate for president, who works as an apologist for al Qaeda out of ideological convictions.
I am a Republican for a long time, a local anti-tax activist and have been active in many conservative causes for well over a decade. I was also elected and served on a regional board in my state. At no time was I a Libertarian. I was a conservative who happened to be Republican.
Too bad we don't have more conservatives and few partisan hacks here at FR these days.

Agreed, it was a bipartisan issue for many years. After WWII, there was a consensus against totalitarinism. Today, there isn’t the same will to win. Even some “conservatives” will betray us rather than listen to GEN Petraeus.

The “G” and “D” came from the mouth of your beloved president.

If we can fault him for a mistake, this would be it, the withdrawal of the Marines from Beirut after being attacked by terrorists in 1983. It was then that the islamic terrorists learned that they can hit the US and the Americans do not respond but they leave. They did so many times since then until they came attacked right here on US soils on 9/11/2001.
Thanks God for President Bush who took the fight right to the heart of the Middle East where islamic terrorists dwells. We are on the offensive against islamic terrorism in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere... and yes we are winning and winning big.

You think the definition of conservatism is trying to destroy a Republican president and to undermine the war effort, as we fight al Qaeda, while trying to elect Ron Paul, who wants to surrender to al Qaeda? Good Lord.

Unfortunately, we dont have that in place. It will be a little bit better now with the Democrats now in charge of oversight. But you know, for top level policy theres not a whole lot of difference between the two policies so a real investigation isnt going to happen. What should I make of this statement? Maybe Dr. Paul's view was that Democrats would somehow act as a check on the Bush administration's (perceived) corruption. Please remember that Dr. Paul isn't a rank-and-file Republican. Personally I think the statement stinks, but then again so does Bush letting Sandy Bergler, Joe Wilson, etc off the hook, keeping Clinton cronies in his administration and State Dept and CIA.

A very wise move if you base your conservatism on “entangling alliances with none”.
To: jveritas
You are a defeatist so do not create lies about President Bush not fighting and make excuses for your defeatism I'm not a defeatist and it's a well-known fact that Bush has let the Dims and their media lapdogs dictate the debate of the war. Forcing him to close down Gitmo, demanding that terrorists get Geneva convention rights. This is a point that you conveniently ignore as you wrap yourself around the flag.
To: elhombrelibre
There are two type of defeatists:
The first kind is outright defeatists who just want to surrender and they do not try to hide. Those are the left wing lunatics and their media.
The second kind are those who hide their defeatism by showing MACHO attitude and since our offensive on islamic terrorism is not matching their MACHOISM, they call for surrender. Those are the defeatists on our side, mainly Buchananites and Paulestinians. The good news is that they constitute a very tiny minority on our side.

Gitmo is not closed and Geneva convention crap was forced by the court, but in reality we are not treating the terrorists as uniformed enemy combatants but as TERRORISTS who can only have military tribunals.

Conservatism does not have anything to do with party affliation. It’s a state of mind. To paraphrase the father of modern Conservatism Russell Kirk. When a Republican president is blatantly violating the Constitution and surrendering our national sovereignty to NAU, it’s our patriotic duty UNDERMINE him.

We're not supposed to 'dick around' lol, ok cut it out.
I would say Reagan's 8 years taking out communism was time well spent, and I think W's 8 years taking out radical islam is also time well spent.
I mean, it's like coyotes or rats: an impediment to world progress.

Ill listen to you over GEN Petraeus. What does he know about kinetic operations next to you? Please don't patronize me.

You never answered my question.
If you are only a girl in theory, what exactly are you?

Wait for a black helicopter to pick you up tonight. What a total idiotic post based on stupid conspiracy theories. You are giving aid and comfort to islamic terrorism when you are undermining the Commander in Chief in time of war.
I will give a link for an islamic terrorist forum and go post there that you want to undermine President Bush. You will see how much cheers you will get from the terrorists when you say this.
