Yeah, it should be interesting, though I wish they just had all of the guests on at the same time. I'll bet Odierno and Allawi would both love a crack at some of these guys.

Ah, yes, that line from the deck of cards. There ought to be a drinking game for that... a shot for everytime someone on these shows says:

* “Win the peace”
* “Exit strategy”
* “No military solution”
* “Civil war” etc...

Great job last week Chuck!

Check out my post 33 and after viewing this few can argue with the job we are doing in Iraq.

Are the politics not always in our favor? Of course. But we have that problem here!

Only answer is for the people of Iraq to control their own destiny, vote the bad guys out and good guys in. It will happen but not if we pull out before their fledgling democracy of their own making is ready.

Look at Korea. We are still there. The threat from NK is still there. The threat from terrorism in the Mid-East is even greater!! Pulling out is just sheer folly. The job is not done.

Warner believes that if he says things in an important sounding way, it will actually make sense.

Timmy insists there must be a significant draw down of military in Iraq by next year.

Of course Timmy brings up Maliki’s statement about finding friends elsewhere.

I'm guessing dartboard. But he's willing to let the President pick the number. Very generous of him.

He said it was meant to send a message to the Iraqi leadership and not to seriously draw down our troop levels or their effectiveness.

The man is a fool and needs to be put out to pasture. He was elected to LEAD and instead, like the rest of the pussies in Congress they stick their fingers in the wind and adjust their positions accordingly. They are true losers, every one of them.

Sam Brownback and Mike Huckabee are the only Republicans to say they will attend.

Armstrong said other candidates have cited scheduling conflicts.

“I would think it would take a major scheduling conflict to not show up to discuss the number one killer in this country,” he [Armstrong] said.

&&&&&&

What arrogance!

“Credibility in the world stage...” another catchphrase...

Tiptoeing around the Sadr problem.

Lays the smackdown on Iran, though.

LOL. I saw the FR thread about that earlier. Here are two scary threads as well.

HuffPo Calls For Military Coup In USA

Huffington Post Idiot Calls For Military Coup In America

I see Sen. John Warner, R-Va. is on Meet the Depressed. Does anyone think he would be on a Sunday show if he hadn't said it's time to "redeploy the troops" this past week?

Very interesting exchange between Wallace and Sen. Jack Reed on FNS about how this “sending a message to the Iraqi government and drumbeat to draw down” is actually working against the Iraqi government.

Reed is too busy smirking to really answer the question.

Yes, media is ramping up for a major Bush bash on Katrina next week.

Can we play that game, too? I remember August 1998. I'm sure the media and their pre-crowned Presidential Candidate want to forget 1998, but I haven't. Read on:

This Day in History 1998: Clinton testifies before grand jury

On this day in 1998, President Bill Clinton becomes the first sitting president to testify before the Office of Independent Council as the subject of a grand-jury investigation.

The testimony came after a four-year investigation into Clinton and his wife Hillary’s alleged involvement in several scandals, including accusations of sexual harassment, potentially illegal real-estate deals and suspected "cronyism" involved in the firing of White House travel-agency personnel. The independent prosecutor, Kenneth Starr, then uncovered an affair between Clinton and a White House intern named Monica Lewinsky. When questioned about the affair, Clinton denied it, which led Starr to charge the president with perjury and obstruction of justice, which in turn prompted his testimony on August 17.

After testifying, Clinton addressed the nation live via television and gave his side of the story. He admitted to an inappropriate relationship with Lewinsky and said that he regretted misleading his wife and the American people when he denied the affair earlier. He insisted that he had given "legally accurate" answers in his testimony and that "at no time" had he asked anyone to "lie, hide or destroy evidence or to take any unlawful action." In addressing the investigation into his past business dealings, Clinton insisted that the investigation did not prove that he or his wife Hillary had engaged in any illegal activity.

The damage, however, was already done. Revelations from the investigation sparked a battle in Congress over whether or not to impeach Clinton. While Democrats favored censure, Republicans called loudly for impeachment, claiming Clinton was unfit to lead the country. In December 1998, the House of Representatives voted to impeach the president, but after a five-week trial in the Senate, Clinton was acquitted. Public opinion polls at the time revealed that while many people disapproved of Clinton’s extramarital affair--which he conducted in the White House Oval Office—most did not consider it an action worthy of impeachment or resignation.

If you play spin the bottle after about 20 rum'n cokes the number 5,000 will start coming up every time--blindness begins to set in.

Depends. Is the Pope a Muslim? Is Osama bin Laden a friend to America? Does gravity point upward??

Of course this is a stage for the antiwar movement.
