I wonder if Jimmie Carter will lead the eulogy or will his emotional distress at Castro beating him to Hades override his ability to speak?

Fidel castro is still dead.

He is not still dead. He's died again. That's different.

I honestly believe that Castro has been dead for at least the last 6 months. They've got him on ice somewhere while they figure out how they are going to transition the government and hold off a counter revolution.

Doesnt revolutions typically have some sort of finality to them? The American Revolution led the the United State of America. We don't still consider being in any sort of revolution. What exactly is Castro and friends revolting from these days?

*****Then this is a day of Independence for all the Cubans and their descendants!!!
Yes, let the joyous sing along! Fidel, Fidel is finally gone!*****

Excuse by Spanish, for the Cinque di Maio will now be joined as a national holiday in “Cooba” as The 24th of August.

It’s funny, but I just finished reading an excellent book last weekend....

“Bay of Pigs...The Untold Story” by Peter Wyden. Published in 1979.

It’s an excellent narrative of the entire invasion fiasco, from it’s inception under Allen Dulles at CIA during the Eisenhower Administration, to the actual disastrous invasion 90 days into the Kennedy Administration, and ends with the release of the last of the Brigade from Cuban prison in the late 1970s.

This book explains why things are the way they are with Cuba, and why the United States will not change things as long as Fidel Castro draws breath.

Personally I hope he does not suffer, but I do hope Fidel has assumed room temperature at long last.

Drive by posting...

Friend’s mom just got off the phone with family in Cuba and reports that Cuban police have been posted on every corner.

My mom just heard from her co-worker (whose SIL lives in Cuba and called him moments ago) that Cuban officials have shut down the airport and are not allowing any flights in or out of the island.

Folks, this may finally be it.
