Iraqi terrorists caught along Mexico border
WorldnetDaily ^ | 08/24/2007

President Bush's top intelligence aide has confirmed that Iraqi terrorists have been captured coming into the United States from Mexico.

The confirmation comes from National Intelligence Director Mike McConnell, who talked about the situation in an interview with the El Paso Times recently.

"Coming up through the Mexican border is a path," McConnell said. "Now, are they doing it in great numbers? No, because we're finding them and we're identifying them and we've got watch lists and we're keeping them at bay."

But, he said, "There are numerous situations where people are alive today because we caught them (terrorists)."

Intelligence officials say the numbers and details of such situations are classified, but McConnell pointed as an example to Mahmoud Youssef Kourani, who entered the United States through Tijuana, Mexico, in 2001, and later pleaded guilty to helping raise money for Hezbollah, which has been designated by the U.S. government as a terrorist organization.

Watch lists might work if they gave their real identities, but lists of Achmeds and Alis are useless when detainees just say “No hablo ingles” and appear to be Pablo.

"Jorge's lax border attitude has disastrous potential."

Sorry but I don't accept Jorge's as being the only problem.

With our alleged Representative Republic (hint, it is not supposed to be a democracy) it is, what it is an abject failure of these idiots in Washington (for longer than Jorge has been in office) to do anything other than throw table scraps to their constituency, not that he is blameless rather this iteration of our useless ruling class that "we" (emphasis) "We " have allowed to BS the American masses to become apathetic. Realistically these buffoons (both sides) that are running for office are part of the problem and "We" latch on to one that sounds good and hope for the best.

Our continuing failure to address the real problems.

Congress has the power to hold people in contempt of congress, how about the people hold congress in contempt of the people, wouldn't that be novel.

“And we have politicians that say the border isn’t a problem.”

And an Admin who have no problem lying to the American people. We’ll all pay dearly for their policies and inaction.

One of the President’s favorite lines, “We must fight the terrorists on their soil to keep from having to fight them on ours” is starting to make me wonder. What if they are already here (or just to our south), in waiting?

Obviously, the Feds have no idea who or how many people are in this country or our neighbor's, undetected. Or do they?

The President’s plan to send the US military to Mexico, helping them battle the Cartels, may be for another reason. In order to make his dream of a NAU come true, any nefarious groups within the perimeter would need to be eliminated. Just a thought.

More likely we pay the coyotes better than the terrorists do...
The terrorists pay $10K a head to be smuggled and may murder you...
We pay $100K per head and give you immunity.

Not that this isn’t news, but WND usually gets a lower mark of approval from me. I was about to bookmark this, and I just hate to use that as a source, though.

Maybe the administration wants the US-Mexico border to be the bait to lure terrorists into the trap?.............

Given the length of the damn thing, no real choke points, basically it's wide open; I'd think that's wishful thinking.

Could be wrong.... But I still want the border locked down. We can't afford having any nasties getting through.

They have know this has been going on since at least 2001.

“McConnell said terrorists have been crossing the Southwest border, but the numbers and other details are classified, according to intelligence officials. He points to Mahmoud Youssef Kourani, whose case became public when he was tried in a U.S. court. Kourani, who entered the country through Tijuana, Mexico, in 2001, pleaded guilty to helping Hezbollah raise money in the Detroit suburb where he lived. Hezbollah has been designated by the United States as a terrorist organization.

Where are the one's that weren't caught? Probably in the basement of some house doing a little soldering. I wonder why this wasn't reported on the news?
