Friggin' journalists.
Hey, somebody has to drive those airport cabs....
;-)
Not only that, but anyone who does act may be opening himself up to all kinds of legal headaches and official harassment.
I have lost count of the number of news stories in which someone used a firearm in self-defense, only to have the police say something like, "Although it turned out OK this time, usually we do not recommend that people take the law into their own hands by confronting a violent person." In some cases, I read that the armed citizen is under investigation for possible violation of this or that regulation.
So the people who refused to intervene are just acting the way they have been told to act -- that is, like sheep. The authorities should be pleased.
It happened in a hallway. In front of a security camera.
It was in a hallway, not in an apartment. That is how 10 people witnessed the attack and did nothing.
We can thank Lutheran Social Services and other politically correct agencies.
Good post.
This is almost unbelievable. Being raped is bad enough, but to know that none of her neighbors cared enough to simply make a phone call? That it happened in a public place? I can’t imagine how this woman must feel, and how it will affect her for the rest of her life.
THANK YOU BILL CLINTON!!!
Thanks, I did read that. But to be honest the police telling the media that does not mean they did not have more than one call. When 911 centers screw up they sometimes try and fuzzy up the story and cover thier a**. I will wait for more from them.
Bill Clinton brought 90,000 Somalis to America to reward them for Black Hawk Down and the mueder of our servicemen. They migrated en masse to the places (MN, ME, OR) where they were as radically opposite to the existing culture as possible, and have wreaked utter havoc ever since.
Putting myself in that hallway, wearing my .45, ordering the man to stop... and if he does nothing? Hmm...
Would I actually be able to take the next step?
Could I get an angle where she isn't in the line of fire?
Would I want to face the legal hassles that followed (and lose my beloved Kimber for several months, if not years)?
Would I be SURE that I'd have a "defense of others" claim, especially if she was not in imminent danger of losing her life?
Is rape, or even "mere" sexual assault, enough to allow me to take someone's life in liberal Minnesota?
I'd love to be a keyboard warrior and say, "Of course I'd put holes in the bastard!!"... but real life has a funny way of being different from the internet. I'd almost certainly hesitate, and wish it were someone else's problem. After that, who knows? I can only hope I'd have the strength to do the right thing. I can't be sure, if I am to be honest with myself.
His pants were down. Stomp on the family jewels a couple of times. Way more fun......
This northerner, as you describe me, lives in Florida.
"(The video) shows one person looking out of her door probably three times," Walsh said. "It shows another person walking up, observing what's going on, then turning and putting up the hood of his sweatshirt."
Seems like the only people I see wearing hoodies in the summer are thugs, which suggests to me that this took place in a pretty rough location.
There are no doubt all sorts of reasons why a person who lived there might want to avoid calling the cops.
90 years ago my Sicilian grandfather got off a boat in NY, went to Columbus and wound up working in a coal mine in Switzer WVA. He met my Sicilian grandmother in Logan County. 40 years later, there were 100 Italian families in Logan County amongst the mountaineers.
Immigrants go where they go, government settled or otherwise.
It’s like something on Wild Kingdom. One animal attacks another within the herd and the others just kinda stand there.
Feral.
Failure to stop and render aid, aiding and abeting the commission of a felony... they ARE guilty in the eyes of the LAW, as well as the LORD.
All that must happen for evil to exist is good men to do nothing.
Free Republic, 2007 A.D. A.B. After Bill. O'Reilly.
We not only have the (gasp!) volunteer (gasp!) mods, we have a cavalry of members who have seemingly been anointed the posting police.
G-- forbid you point out the truth of the story. That the perp in the article is an African. A Somali. Got your post removed right quick! Hush, you! O'Reilly is watching!
