The MSM is SO predictable... they present the solitary view of ONE RINO Senator as evidence of "erosion of GOP support for the President's war strategy at a critical time." The truth of course is the exact opposite... but what do you know - no bias there. These liberal journalists live in their own dream world.

Every time Lugar or Warner does this they get on the news. Every time this issue gets brought up to me, I remind the liberal who's telling me this about the LAST time Warner or Lugar called for something like this.

Sen. John Warner: Iraq War 'Drifting Sideways'

Sen. John Warner on Thursday offered his darkest assessment yet of Iraq, saying the war there was "drifting sideways" without a commitment from its government to disarm militias.

November 15, 2005 Senate Republicans Pushing for a Plan on Ending the War in Iraq By CARL HULSE

WASHINGTON, Nov. 14 - In a sign of increasing unease among Congressional Republicans over the war in Iraq, the Senate is to consider on Tuesday a Republican proposal that calls for Iraqi forces to take the lead next year in securing the nation and for the Bush administration to lay out its strategy for ending the war....The proposal on the Iraq war, from Senator Bill Frist, the majority leader, and Senator John W. Warner, Republican of Virginia, chairman of the Armed Services Committee, would require the administration to provide extensive new quarterly reports to Congress on subjects like progress in bringing in other countries to help stabilize Iraq. The other appeals related to Iraq are nonbinding and express the position of the Senate.

END QUOTE

So it's not like this is some new, startling change in Warner's position.

The big media LIE being pushed here is that Warner’s statement represents something new. Paraphrasing CBS news, for example, “a long time supporter of the president’s policy has now changed his position.”

Warner turned yellow several months ago, of course.

“influential former chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee”

I stopped reading right there.....not interested in anything he says except he’s going to retire.

Warner is turning out to be someone who needs to go in a state where he can be kicked out. I think Jim Gilmore would make a good replacement for this old bag of crap.

I think there is a rush to run in fron of the parade.

We ARE eventually going to leave, whether it is today or 50 years from today.

For his own reasons Warner is hedging his bets to do “I told you so.”

Warner could just as easily demanded night follow day.

Perhaps during the next solar eclipse he could point to the sky and demand the sun come back.

It would be good if this decrepit old third (or fourth mate) on the tramp (Liz) steaming out of a Virginia port would retire immediately.

He is another dinosaur ready for Byrdland.
