'Sanctuary' [cities] as battleground (Ultra Barf Alert!)
The Los Angeles Times ^ | August 22, 2007 | Ronald Brownstein

Posted on 08/23/2007 1:19:59 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Let's say the 7-year-old daughter of illegal immigrants working in a big American city wakes up this morning with a high fever and a rash.

Is it in that city's interest for the little girl to receive treatment at a local public clinic or hospital? Or is that community better off if the child's parents try to treat her at home because they fear a doctor will ask about their immigration status -- and report them to the federal government if they can't prove they are here legally?

Before you answer, recall that in the 1982 Plyler vs. Doe decision, the Supreme Court ruled that children of illegal immigrants have a constitutional right to public education. That means whether or not that child is examined to determine if her illness is contagious, she will soon be back in a classroom of other 7-year-olds -- many, in all likelihood, American citizens.

In most places, for most people, this would not be a hard call. Leaving aside any question of compassion toward the girl, the community's public health is clearly served if she is treated before she infects anyone else.

Likewise, most people would agree that communities are safer if illegal immigrants who have been the victims of crime, or possess evidence that can help solve a crime, can talk to police officers without fear of being quizzed about their status. Or if illegal immigrants enroll their children in school (as the Supreme Court allowed), rather than keep them at home for fear admissions officials will investigate the parents' status.

Pyler Vs Doe was a bone-headed Supreme Court ruling. I don't see where in the Constitution we are obligated to educate other countries' kids. We need to reverse that and begin deporting them. Its time to mandate respect for OUR sovereignty.

"Is it in that city's interest for the little girl to receive treatment at a local public clinic or hospital? Or is that community better off if the child's parents try to treat her at home because they fear a doctor will ask about their immigration status -- and report them to the federal government if they can't prove they are here legally?"

What if, what if, what if. Is that all stupid liberals know?

First, let's look at how "real" this situation really is.

First, a kid with a fever and rash is nothing to panic about and rush a kid into an ER. Any small private walk in clinic can look at her and treat her.

This leads us to a TRUTH. These illegal aliens, working in the country illegaly, wouldn't have to worry about a doc at a private walk in clinic "turning them in". It's quite normal for tourists visiting the USA to go for medical treatment if they should become ill.
The TRUTH is, this little 7 year old girls parents don't want to PAY for the service, even though they are working here illegaly and therefore have enough cash to do so. Plus, they may have to buy medicine as well, which will put another dent in their savings, perhaps a whole days pay sized dent.

So, more TRUTHS present themselves, eliminating more "what if's". These illegal aliens, not willing to pay cash, and being the criminally minded people they are, are going to get "free" medical treatment by taking their 7 year old daughter to the hospital ER, where they can claim they are just poor American citizens without medical insurance, and have medicaid (the American taxpayer) pick up the tab. This is after all, what they paid the fake id people extra money for, to have a fake social security number included with the fake ID. Besides, everyone does it, and they know that the Hospital isn't likely to question their status, never mind actually report them to the police, who they know probably wouldn't respond to the call at all.

This brings us to another final set of truths, and eliminates the last of the "what if's" and drama injected into the story which is supposed to make you feel sympathy towards these illegal criminals, as well as cover up the truth of the whole matter.

It's mid August. This kid won't be (illegaly) attending classes yet, again at taxpayers expense, and spreading her illness to poor American children, if there even are any in this illegal immigrant, all Spanish speaking school located in the heart of illegal alien ville. There's safety in numbers, and no questions asked if they stick together and drive all the Americans out of the neighborhood.

This entire story is just fiction, created to hide the truth of the real situation on the ground in this attack and invasion of our country.

It has to be done in the Constimatushion. Otherwise the anchor babies will keep on going to school on our dime.

The fight for our country has just begun. We MUST get rid of the anchor baby interpretation of the 14th amendment. Even if we deported every single illegal, all their anchor babies can return once they are 18, we are right back to square one again.

Well I saw some hope in this article:

Woman pleads guilty, may face deportation

http://www.republicanherald.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=18739631&BRD=2626&PAG=461&dept_id=532624&rfi=6

Some places seem to follow the law.

But, yesterday I was at the National Headquarters of the DAR in Washington and a crew of about 20 were cleaning the stone around the top of the buildings within eyesight of the White House. I suspect few, if any, were legal immigrants. And the work was being done by some big name Michigan restoration contractor.

Bit of irony there, revolution dedicated bldg.being restored by Constitution busting workers.

Oh, I don't know...I suppose we could make sure the kids go to school while we're going through the deportation process for the parents... sure, your kid has a right to go to school while here, but that doesn't translate into a right to be here.

Without singling out the DAR (of which my late mother was, and my two daughters are, proud members), what you describe is the reason we have an immigration problem: citizens who want to pay less for a service are willing to look the other way because illegals work for less. As Pogo put it, We have met the enemy and he is us!

Lets say that a mass murderer wakes up with a fever, is it better for the city if the killer goes to the hospital, or does not for fear of being identified as a criminal?

In the case of the illegal immigrant, is it better for the city to pay for the hospitialisation costs of a person that has been living in the city without paying for the services or is it better for the city to identify dead weights and tax cheats and demand cash up front for services?

Taxation is tolerable only if the person in charge of spending the money at least half assed tries to spend it as wisely as the person forced to earn the money. Would any of you hand out money to everyone who demands it in the street without at least trying to find out if you really owe it first?

When taxation is in the hands of fools, the wise grow weaker one dollar at a time.

Librals are simpletons. Look what happens by changing a few words in the lead paragraphs -

Let’s say the 7-year-old daughter of a terrorist plotting to blow up a big American city wakes up this morning with a high fever and a rash.

Is it in that city’s interest for the little girl to receive treatment at a local public clinic or hospital? Or is that community better off if the child’s terrorist parents try to treat her at home because they fear a doctor will ask about their immigration status — and report them to the federal government if they can’t prove they are here legally?

Current federal law 8USC 1373(a) PROHIBITS SANCTUARY CITIES. It reads as follows:

"Notwithstanding any other provision of federal, state, or local law, a federal, state, or local government entity or official may not prohibit, or in any way restrict any government entity or official from sending to, or receiving from, the Immigration and Naturalization Service information regarding the citizenship or immigration status, lawful or unlawful, of any individual."

Hmmm. As long as the LA Times is playing “let’s imagine”.....lets imagine that the illegal invaders and their liberal enablers in our government and the main-slime-media are all deported the hell out of the USA!

“in the 1982 Plyler vs. Doe decision, the Supreme Court ruled that children of illegal immigrants have a constitutional right to public education”

A right to public education, but its not compulsary..the illegal alien parents will not be penalized if the illegal alien child is kept away from school so the American kids will not be infected..

and of course if the illegal alien parents would be sooooooo considerate of the American students to the point they would take the illegal alien child back home to Mexico and keep him there..

There’s always a satisfactory solution to illegal alien problems....Thank me...
