Inventor May Have Breakthrough in Killing Cancer Cells
WKYC.com ^ | August 20, 2007 | Michael O'Mara

Posted on 08/20/2007 8:23:48 PM PDT by Paved Paradise

Inventor from Erie, P.A. teams up with leading cancer center. The work has been quietly been going on for the last three years in a no-frills laboratory in Erie, Pennsylvania. Inventor, John Kanzius, working with Jim and Charlie Rutkowski, have been perfecting a device that will kill cancer cells with a radio frequency.

This humble workspace could soon become the epicenter of one of the most stunning scientific breakthroughs in cancer treatment in years.

Using the Kanzius RF machine and special nanoparticles, it appears that cancer cells can be targeted and killed without harming the rest of the body.

This is a deeply personal mission for John Kanzius. He is struggling to beat leaukemia. And he knows firsthand how tough standard treatments like chemotherapy and radiation can be on the body.

Kanzius told Channel 3's Mike O'Mara that, "If this ends up working they way it looks, it really could be the holy grail of cancer research."

The entire city of Erie is buzzing about John's invention. Two weekends ago, thousands turned out for a motorcycle rally called "Roar On The Shore". All the money is going to help John's cancer research.

Ralph Pontillo is the head of the Erie Manufacturers Association. He is proud that his city can help the Kanzius project.

"It's amazing, said Ralph, "that in the very near future someone is going to stick a pin on a map and say this is where cancer was cured. And that pin is going to be Erie, Pennsylvania. That blows your mind and that is inconceivable."

Former Erie Mayor, Joyce Savocchio, said "there are nights that I think about it and I can't go to sleep. It just enfolds you that you are on the brink of history and something so enormous that you can't imagine it."

The excitement is not limited to Erie, Pennsylvania. In Houston, Texas at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, a team of scientists believe that John Kanzius has the key to something extraordinary.

MD Anderson is one of the most respected cancer centers in the world. 79 thousand cancer patients were treated at the huge campus in Houston last year.

Doctor Steven Curley is leading the research team at MD Anderson. Dr. Curley is the author of over 110 publications and 30 book chapters, many dealing with the treatment of patients with hepotocellular cancer, gallbladder cancer, bile duct cancer, or liver metastases.

Curley is brimming with cautious optimism.

"If we can come up with ways of delivering these particles to the cancer cells, but not to normal cells," Curley said, "this treatment will work. There's not a doubt in my mind. Any kind of cancer, anywhere in the body!"

Doctor Curley's team is ready to publish their first results using laboratory animals. So far, the targeted nanoparticles and the Kanzius RF machine have passed every test.

"There is a great deal of work that has to be done", said Curley. "However, I suspect once the manuscripts are published, there's going to be a real rush of excitement about this whole process. I've already warned John to get ready because the floodgates are about to open."

Kanzius wants to make sure his invention does not get sidelined by an unsympathetic corporation that might not want see an effective treatment on the market.

Said Kanzius, "venture capitalists, big pharmaceuticals that might want to buy this to tempt me and stop the research, not going to happen. There is no amount of money that can buy me off. You can not put a price on a human life."

When the revolutionary treatment is ready for human clinical trials, you can bet that Erie, Pennsylvania will go to the front of the line. And why not, since the inventor lives just a few miles away.

So what has this to do with this other guys claims?

Try to put the other guys claims out of your mind and look at the research. This has already received FDA approval after clinical trials I and II, not an easy accomplishment.

OIC what he's all about now. He's the same guy who figured he could violate the second law of thermo dynamics. His Rf generator is nothing special, except being one HE made. That's the hitch.

Using RF to heat a targeted area is nothing new, unfortunately. Seems he has his "battles with the government patent office" going on as well, and has begun holding seminars to atract suckers- er I mean investors.
Kanzius was a former broadcast executive and claimed engineer.

I smell scam.

"If we can come up with ways of delivering these particles to the cancer cells, but not to normal cells,"

LOL! I really did laugh out loud. That little "if," far from being a trivial problem, has already exhausted billions of dollars of research.

Ladies and gentlemen, hang on to your purses and wallets. My scam-o-meter is pegged.

I must admit when I first started reading my initial thought was, “this is just another scam

MD Anderson is one of the cancer capitals of the world. If they are interested, that's good enough for me.

I don't doubt the real Docs research, but he isn't using a John Kanzius Special magic RF generator.

Kanzius isn't connected at all as far as I can see. Other than maybe some name dropping to sell his frequency generator, and no doubt some magic liquid to go along with it so victims can treat themselves at home.

I need to dig deeper to be sure however, there are 4 patent applications to read through, and dozens of search results to see what this guy is really up to.

Nowhere does it say in the reseach articles Bayou City linked to that they are interested in Kanzius' RF generator. In fact the reseach articles mention the use of a different RF generator.

I hope the team is successful. I was treated with radiation after my lumpectomy. Unfortunately, “the cure was worse than the disease”. I developed an angiosarcoma due to the radiation and had to have my breast removed last month. Can’t fault the doctors since that was the accepted method of treatment.

In fact Doctor Steven Curley leading the research team at MD Anderson began his first trials 8 years ago. Nothing to do whatsoever with those other guys. I think they are using this Docs work to sell their magic machine, or rather sell “investment opportunities”

Radio Frequencies, Magnetic Pulsing, and various other electronic devises have had success in treating and killing cancer cells. Wishing all the best to this endeavor! Pray that conventional medicine will some day embrace approaches other than the cut, poison, burn protocols that are the norm.

It is well to remember this: Chemo cures cancer and the earth is flat.

This is likely a dumb question:

If you kill the cancer cells, do you stop whatever is causing them to be created, or more to be created?

Could it be that the nanoparticles are containers for the chemo agent, and that the RF energy opens up the nanoparticles? Focus the RF energy at the cancer site and deliver the dose only to the bad cells.

I always thought the reason cancer cells were so hard to get rid of was because they were able to mutate their way away from antibodies attacking just them. It seems that would make it really difficult to only get the cancer cells. They must have also found identity properties the cancer cells can't escape from sharing.

God Bless 'em and hurry!

"Wasn’t there someone recently who was trying to do the same thing and found the salt water can burn?"

It was the same guy with the same 'invention'.

Water into fuel?

From that article:

"John Kanzius discovered that his radio frequency generator could release the oxygen and hydrogen from saltwater and create an incredibly intense flame."

I think you have a very good take on things. I was skeptical myself, but it certainly sounds as if some highly credentialed professionals in the field are more than interested.

Like you, I would like to know more as this is very interesting. He seems to be determined to do this on his own so that may explain the lack of details. The article speaks in terms of “if it is possible”, but I think there is more to it and he may have perhaps dialed into efficacious RF and nano particles already.

If he hasn’t, then I just can’t see the optimism and excitement this has generated at one of the most prodigious Centers in the USA and perhaps the world. You have to think the best in the field at the University of Texas would have been more skeptical than we are at first. So, that may be a good indicator that he is on to something big. Let’s hope and pray.

But yeah, there are some ifs involved. For one thing I still don't understand how you can possibly engineer (what I gather are) RF-sensitive nanoparticles capable of finding & attaching themselves to the category "any cancer cell".

Read the book, "The Body Electric", to see how many of the low-level functions of cells, bactreria, viruses, etc., in the body DO use electrical signals...

If you kill the cancer cells, do you stop whatever is causing them to be created, or more to be created?

You just kill existing cancer cells. That means they won't multiply and become exponentially more cancer cells, which is what tumor growth is about.

Of course you don't stop normal cells from turning into cancer cells at some point. Because even if they are able to "tag" cancer cells, they likely wouldn't be able to tag "normal cells that are gonna turn into cancer cells a year from now". So no, cancer could presumably always come back. But one might hope that, 99.9% of the original cancer having been swept away, your body's immune system - and perhaps more RF treatments - would suffice in controlling what remains and what shows up later.
