I thought I would share this neat experience that I had with my youngest son, Jared (whom many freepers are familiar with from his trips with me to Klamath, Jarbidge, the March for Liberty, the 50 Million Round March, etc.), with the Freeper community. Wonderful trip, wonderful scenery. Anyone wishing to see some of North America's most isolated, pristine, and most beautiful wilderness areas should consider this trip. But make sure you have a good four wheel drive vehicle, at least one very good spare (two is preferable) and plenty to drink and eat for your trip.

Thanks for the information. The wife and I will have to head up to the north part of the state to give it a try. Will make sure to bring the camera and a couple of memory sticks, it looks and sounds like a worthwhile experience.

What a great trip, a memory your son will cherish always.
Hope to do some trail riding soon, just finishing resusitating my 1941 Willys MB, it came off the assembly
line on Dec 16, 1941.

What's your camera?

I've hunted that area above Hwy 14 between Grangeville and Elk City. Absolutely spectacular and the deer are thick as fleas. I'd move there in a heartbeat if I had a way to earn a living there.

Some things are better left unsaid.
But since we are all fellow Freepers here you are amoung friends. Just don’t go TOO PUBLIC with it.

Great stuff, Jeff! I'm sitting here about 150 miles north of there, inside in the first rain we've had in a month - headed down to Moscow tonight.
Now, that particular road...anyone contemplating it should realize that when the map says "not accessible all year" it means "snow up to yer butt from October on." That is not country that is hospitable in bad weather. Isn't particularly hospitable in good weather either.
But it's sure beautiful. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.
