BAGHDAD – Less than a year after Saddam Hussein was sent to the gallows, his first wife and their daughter are facing charges that could lead to their execution, too.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Interior said that the daughter, Raghad Hussein, 38, has been charged with financing insurgents who've bedeviled this country since shortly after her father's regime was toppled in 2003.

Similar charges are pending against her mother, Sajida Khairalla Tulfa. Iraq issued arrest warrants for both women a year ago, but the orders' existence became public Friday after Interpol, the international police agency, issued a worldwide alert.

Intereting....Papa Hussein killed her husband and she still maintains loyalty to her father! What a family.

uh... isn’t it a little creepy when you round up families and kill them? I mean, I’m not saying they don’t deserve it (Uday sure did), but I mean, take a number and get in line— there are quite a few nutjobs running around loose who could assume room temp, but we leave them alone. The leader of Iran can point his finger at Israel and say he’s going to destroy it, just give me time to build my nukes, and he’s still exchanging carbon dioxide and oxygen. But let’s make sure this woman is killed. Maybe she has a niece.

In the old days it looks like they did something right, killed the whole family to make sure there was no resurrection of loyalties.

Bring them back to Iraq for war crimes against innocent Iraqis.

Try them and find them guilty.

Then hang them like dear old Daddy!

On July 2, 2006, the government of Iraq national security advisor Muwaffaq al-Rubaie declared that Raghad and her mother Sajidah Khairallah Tilfah Hussein were wanted because they supported the insurgency in Iraq. The Jordanian Prime Minister Marouf al-Bakhit made a statement that "Raghad was under the royal family's protection" and "The presence of Mrs Raghad Saddam Hussein and her children in Jordan is motivated by humanitarian considerations, She is the guest of the Hashemite royal family (of King Abdullah II) and under its protection as a seeker of asylum" in accordance with Arab tradition.

(Purloined from Wikipedia)

Jordan won't give them up......it's an Arab tradition.

Yes, I’m aware of that, heck, I’ll put the rope around her neck, but what I’m saying is, there are probably (and I’m not exaggerating), there are probably over a billion people on this planet who are deserving to have their brains splattered on the ground. How we pick is just a little confusing. It used to be, you’d have a Crusade every now and again, kind of thin the herd. But since we haven’t been doing any “weeding” for the longest time, the ol’ garden’s getting a little overgrown.

Pronunciation: “Rag-had” or “Ra-ghad”. The first one will draw a lot of quips.
