Can you say “the Abomination of Desolation”? Sure you can! What if the Temple doesn’t have to be actually rebuilt, but the Abomination merely has to be on the site of the Temple?
The abomination of desolation was the first thing that crossed my mind on reading the headline. We are living in interesting times.
the Abomination of Desolation?
That was my first thought...
C.H. Spurgeon (1888) “This portion of our Saviour’s words appears to relate solely to the destruction of Jerusalem. As soon as Christ’s disciples saw “the abomination of desolation,” that is, the Roman ensigns, with their idolatries, “stand in the holy place,” they knew that the time for their escape had arrived; and they did flee to the mountains.”
I.E., the “abomination of desolation” was about the destruction of the Temple that was still standing when Jesus spoke about it to His disciples. He was not speaking about a distant future event with a “third Temple” which, by the way, is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible.
Books that I’ve found useful for reading and checking with Scripture yourself are: “Apocalypse Code” by Hanegraaff and “Last Days Madness” by DeMar.
Never thought of it that way . All thats left to do is for one of them to stand in the mosque call themselves God in this case .
Maybe a few more homosexual parades and secular Israeli citizens and it may happen sooner than we think .
