Sanctuary cities are facilitating crime, acting as accomplices.

This is of course the lawful stance to take, but it could come back to haunt him or anyone else on the Right who takes the same stance.

Those cities are nothing if not ruthless. Think Chicago. Think voter fraud. Unless those outside the cities help give courage and protection to those inside the cities who also don’t like the invasion and its sanctuary aiders and abettors, whomever takes a stand in favor of taking money away from sanctuary cities run the risk of having their voters votes disappear.

When you’ve got them by the dollars their hearts and minds will follow.

Indeed. Or - money talks, illegals walk.

Mmmmmm.....true enough.

However, I believe Romney is betting that a groundswell of American voices----outraged at the Oregon/Newark killings----will be enough to coalesce behimd the idea, and would be strong enough to drown out the insiders, and scare away the dirty dealers.

We need a few thousand CITIZENS who can show direct harm by Illegals protected by Sanctuary Cities to file thousands upon thousands of Class Action lawsuits against the cities and politicians. (They'll be loses for sure at first but so were the first suits against 'big tobacco', etc)......given that Rooty was the biggest illegal enabler who publicly flaunted US law (and filed lawsuits), he and NYC should be the first target (civil statute of limitations haven't expired yet).

RICO actions can easily be filed against sanctuary cities.

For those not familiar with RICO, here's a basic orientation about the racketeering laws with which aggrieved individuals may do with as they wish.

A popular definition of RICO is as follows: "Racketeering"----"a pattern of illegal activity (as extortion) that is carried out in furtherance of an enterprise (such as a criminal syndicate---- (see the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act)otherwise known as RICO.")

A "pattern" can involve as few as merely two misdeeds---like using school funds improperly for illegals---misleading tax-exempt investors as to the use of school bond referenda ---sucj as fuverting for illegals----and/or repeatedly tampering with official documents to allow illegals to register to vote, for example.

It helps if an ongoing threat still exists, legally speaking.

RICO enables victims to get financial indemnification as a result of ALL SORTS of activities, as well as TRIPLE damages and attorneys fees.

To find the list of RICO acts (also known as "predicate acts"), one can go to: http://uscode.house.gov/search/criteria.shtml and look for: 18 USC Sec. 1961.

Now at that link, the "18" goes in the "Title" box, and the 1961 goes in the "Section" box. Quite a refreshingly comprehensive list, isn't it?

=================================================

The government can't fight crime all on its own. These laws exist to incentivize "private prosecutors".

Now then 18 U.S.C. 1964(c) says the following: TITLE 18 - Sec. 1964. Civil remedies (c) Any person injured in his business or property by reason of a violation of section 1962 of this chapter may sue therefor in an appropriate United States district court and shall recover threefold the damages he sustains and the cost of the suit, including a reasonable attorney's fee.

The substantive provisions of Section 1962 define the elements of a cause of action which must be assessed in connection with the definition of the terms in Section 1961 (mentioned above).

Here's an example of what a RICO complaint looks like: http://images.spaceref.com/news/ 2005/spacex.summons.and.complaint. pdf

It costs about $350 to file a RICO complaint in federal court.

I hope he's sincere. But since Tancredo and Hunter have been ruled out by TPTB, I'm grateful for what I can get.

Those cities are nothing if not ruthless. Think Chicago. Think voter fraud.

I often think that these problems may become their own solution. The terrorists tend to make their attacks against historically known symbols of the west. These older, more internationally known cities tend to be inhabited by folks whose votes elect those who weaken us in the WOT. If those of us who are trying to fight the war are unsuccessful in fighting the enemy off, the damage is likely to be in the areas inhabited by those who weaken our resolve.

So the more ineffectual we are in the war, the stronger we are politically in the country, due to the physical removal of our opponents.

In a way this is similar to the economic theories of Joseph Schumpeter in which he theorizes that the result of free market economic success is to weaken the aspects of society necessary to support the free market.
