I was listening to the news out of the corner of my ear when I heard FreeRepublic specifically mentioned as a "hate site" about fifteen minutes ago.
Ostensibly the long report was about the Klan using the web to recruit new wackos. Then the focus turned to Casa Maryland, and their director who claimed that calls for his murder had circulated on the internet by anti-immigrant bigots. It was then that the anchor identified FR by name as a hate site.

The WebSense filters on my company firewall now blocks FR as a "Sex" site. That is a fairly recent occurrence. Fairly annoying as well. I suspect some lefty has been hired by the company into the network security position and did this without any authorization.

Not really, it’s meant to let the person know that I am imposing so to speak on his or her post to someone else.
It’s meant to be polite, sort of like saying excuse me when interrupting your elders or two people in conversation.
I use it out of respect to the FReeper making the post.
The courtesy comment line is also used to differentiate between the FReepers post and my thoughts.

Ah, that makes sense. It sounds like you use “Courtesy Comment” the same way I like to use “Listen up, Beeeeeyatches!!!”
To: Myrddin
WebSense makes that “mistake” with more than a few conservative sites. It may be your IT and not Websense, but if you notify WebSense and Challenge them they will always make the appropriate change.

I don’t think anyone has said “We’re perfect”, after all, we are human——and an amazing group of individuals as well. There probably are some racists, some bigots, etc., but their posts, when anywhere near as graphic as DU, are usually blocked/withdrawn.

I thought it revealing, and somewhat incriminating, that they showed no complete sentences, let alone complete posts. That tells me they, perhaps, couldn’t find what they were looking for. Awwwww.......

This had to have been done deliberately and with malice by the reporter and Fox News.

Student. What get me ticked off is that they would investigate an anonymous report (by email). Freedom of speech? I’m not a liberal... apparently I don’t have that right.

Good grief, this is the article wherin this Casa Maryland bunch make threats against other groups. How can they POSSIBLY claim FR was “hateful”, when they started the exchange. Talk about typical liberal turdsmanship!!

I don't think the reporter was stupid. This was either a deliberate shot for ideological reasons or the reporter knowingly omitted the provocation of Torres and thought we would not find it and call her on it. She can't have missed the thread article. It was a short thread. You've got a good point. The crack investigative team at Fox5 News was on a mission, it appears; a mission that could not be derailed by facts.
Gustavo Torres threatened to stalk children of his political enemies. Fox5 News omitted that fact from their report.
A very big ommission, IMO.

Could be she saw O’Reilly and concluded it is “open season” on Free Republic.

Only a drooling imbecile could have done that by accident.

Now it's really lawsuit time.
