Speculating reporting? Even I know that specualting without fact turns it into a tabloid.
Fox showed a family who had gone to the mine looking for one of the workers. They said the wife did not speak English and was looking for her husband.

A woman who is related to one miner and three rescuers says tonight that she’s been told that one person is dead and four are injured after a cave-in during a search and rescue operation for six trapped miners in the Crandall Canyon mine.
“They just told me to come to the hospital, said Debbie Oveson, whose son and two nephews are part of the rescue crew digging a fresh air tunnel into the mine. “They said there was a cave-in and a miner was killed and four were injured.”
However, a Castleview Hospital official said as many as 11 people were involved in the accident. Three at the hospital in Price are listed in very serious condition, he said. Five ambulances raced up and down Crandall Canyon tonight to the mine site where rescue workers have been trying to find six miners trapped since Aug. 6.
The most recent cave-in occurred tonight, the 11th day of the rescue effort, The Associated Press reported.
There was a ‘’mountain bump” inside the mine, said the AP, citing the Price hospital official who said he couldn’t be identified because he was not allowed to release information.

If the local diocese is asking photographers not to take pictures of the families because of immigration reasons then I would conclude that some of the miners are illegals.

This is a very active thread. May I be so presumptious as to request that everybody that is here right now, send a prayer up, and ask for angels to protect those injured or in danger? I thank all who will join me.
I used that citation on the original mine thread. It appears that the diocese believes some of the family members may be illegally here. I have not seen a credible source for the statement that the miners were here illegally though. If it turns out that way, we can put some ICE on it. In the meanwhile, I’m going to light a candle. Thanks.

Gotta give credit to Crandall Canyon Mine owner Bob Murray. In a crisis, when one’s true colors shine through, he has accomplished what President Bush never could: he has brought us all together. I mean, is there anyone in Utah who doesn’t think he is a lousy excuse for a human being (or reasonable facsimile thereof)?
