Giuliani: 'Leave My Family Alone'

DERRY, N.H. (AP) - Republican Rudy Giuliani said Thursday that people should "leave my family alone" when asked by a New Hampshire woman why the presidential candidate should expect loyalty from voters when he doesn't get it from his children.

Answering questions at a town-hall meeting, Giuliani was asked why he should expect loyalty from GOP voters when his children aren't backing him.

"I love my family very, very much and will do anything for them. There are complexities in every family in America," Giuliani said calmly and quietly. "The best thing I can say is kind of, 'leave my family alone, just like I'll leave your family alone.'"

His comments were greeted with a smattering of applause from the audience of about 120 people. Giuliani urged them to judge him based on his performance as mayor and a federal prosecutor, and he launched into a list of his successes such as reducing crime and welfare and prosecuting organized crime figures and drug dealers.

No A cheap shot would be to point out that compared to Rudy, Bill Clinton looks like a good husband and father

Don’t necessarily disagree with the “cheap shot” point, but now that you mention it, Rudy’s family problems do look pretty tawdry and I’m betting they won’t play well on the national stage. Also, his is daughter may only be 17 but I bet she knows the difference between a real Dad and a philanderer. And don’t we have way too many of those in the Republican Party already? Just asking.

Reagan’s family troubles were not in the same league as Giuliani’s.

And some of those were caused by the death of Reagan's first child. Out of the people I know who lost children at an early age, very few families recover easily and go on about their ways. I know that losing their baby devastated Ronald and Jane, and I've read that it overshadowed his other children at times. Very few marriages survive the death of a young child.

you talk like a fool........do you work for the beast.

Unless you write precisely, your meaning will be confused.

That should have been either a question

you talk like a fool........do you work for the beast?

or an imperative

you talk like a fool........do your work for the beast.

Also use of the definite article implies "beast" should have been capitalized "Beast"
